Much easier to work with if I break these in half. But they have great coverage and are very easy to smooth and shade with my finger.

This is VERY good charcoal! I really only use it for image transfer from paper on to canvas so I can paint, but this is ideal for that. Nice and soft and DARK.

Only received one broken stick
This was advertised as a BOX of 6 soft rectangular 6B sticks. What I received was 1 slightly broken stick in a little baggie with a sticker saying "box of six soft rectangular 6B sticks." This is not what I paid for nor what was advertised. It also was supposed to be a prime delivery as it was needed for an important assignment, but I received it 5 days after ordering.

Wrong kind of charcoal--does not erase.
This does not behave like normal charcoal. Get vine charcoal instead for drawing. It does not erase.
