Not the most inexpensive, but good quality and good performing
I've mounted this tempoarily indoors and am very happy of the improved performance vs. my scanner's default antenna. Night. and. Day.In fact, on the 2M and 70cm bands, it matches and aruably beats my well mounted diamond X50 for my transciever.Construction quality is great (no missing parts for me!) and the size is smaller than my initial expectation. Glad to buy something from Taiwan rather than China too..Go ahead and spend a few extra $ on this; you'll be happy; this is a 'lifetime' antenna for scanner application.

Really brings my scanner to life
I am using this with two uniden scanners, BCD325P2 and SDS100. This antenna allows me to receive Clear consistent signals from sources that I was not able to receive with other antennas. I use this antenna indoors and it works perfectly.

Nice antenna fits my car great!
I use this with a cheap baofeng in my car and works great. Appears to be very good quality! Have not yet checked if it's SWR is correct for the bands it said and will update after testing.

Excellent antenna, but missing some minor hardware
Reception from this is excellent, for the bands it handles. I put it on a magnetic mount and slapped it down on a metal balcony railing, then wound the cable from the mount around the railing. I'm feeding that into an RTL-SDR on a laptop and getting really good results. Definitely making me curious about what a full-size discone would give me. Unfortunately, had to ding a star because it was missing some of the lock washers the instructions called for. It should also come with a cheap stamped wrench to tighten the elements, at this price. I would get a pretty substantial magnetic mount if you want to use this on a vehicle in motion, and I would definitely use threadlocker all over the place. If the magnetic mount is strong enough, you might want to consider a neoprene buffer pad or something to help damp out the vibration. But definitely a good piece of kit, and if all you've been using are whips, I would order one.

Several problems encountered
I've been a Ham for nearly 50 years. I'm saying this so you know I have experience assembling antennas. I'm also retired from an Air Force Communications Squadron. Also assembled many antennas there. The antenna assembled very easily, until it came time to mount it.I have never purchased any commercial antenna that didn't include some kind of mounting hardware. Until now. The instructions recommended a Diamond Antenna BK10. Ok. I wish I knew this before I bought it, but I tried a search for it.The search results for "Diamond Antenna BK10" were 3 ring binders, HP Printer cartridges, some coax and even a case of water among other not veery useful items.I haven't tried to receive anything yet (not mounted). I'm stuck trying to mount this thing. I'll try searching the internet. For the price of this antenna, it should contain some mounting hardware or else say this is a mobile antenna and requires mobile hardware.Very disappointed about the lack of instructions. Who receives satellites or aircraft while mobile. I need to install on my house to receive satellites. Since I'm a Ham and Hams modify things to work, I'll find a solution.I'll add more after I find a mount for the antenna and can connect to a radio to receive anything.

Returned missing many parts
Ok I tried to get a deal. Did not work this time more than ten pieces missing . No deal returned same day.I gave five stars because it absolutely would have been what I was looking for.

Good quality - resolvable issues with manufacturing
Had a loose set screw that must have come out during shipping but that was replaceable online with a $5 purchase. Manufacturer may want to ensure set screws are fully in place before packaging and shipping.

it works better than a typical telescoping antenna or base-loaded
Smaller than i thought-then I've had full-size base-station vhf/uhf antennas, was surprised at its size, which will affect its overall propagation for receiving I believe. Works well enough, sturdy design, i have this mounted outside only about 40-50 feet airborne on a mast. I've picked up UHF stations 100 miles away during good conditions, although lately propagation for these frequencies seems pretty poor generally with any of my antennas. Unless this is mounted pretty well up in my area, line-of-site is still pretty limited even with this antenna, but being some radio frequencies are horizontal, some vertical I thought it better to have both geometric radials-a conical and a few semi-horizontals. still testing.
