77MM Digital Tulip Flower Lens Hood for Canon EOS R, EOS 6D, EOS 6D Mark II, EOS 5D Mark IV Camera with EF 24-105mm USM Lens

Good quality but, didn’t fit

I could not use this hood, it did not fit my L Series 24-105 correctly, the long blades of the tulip were visible on the edges of my viewfinder on my 6D MkII. Had to shoot without it.

If this just had a metal mount and hardware, it would be great. But it doesn't. It has very fine plastic threads. The nut that locks the hood in place is also plastic. It is very easy to jump the threads or cross thread when attaching it. I've seen some reviews claim that the threads are incompatible with filters. This is not true. It is just *really* hard to thread this filter onto anything without destroying the threads. It took me about five minutes. I would NEVER consider this hood for any use where I had to repeatedly attach and remove it. In my case, I'm permanently attaching it to a filter as part of a DIY dry bag for my camera. For that, it's passable—though I would still pay double for a metal screw mount.

This item is quite sturdily made, and durable. I needed it to use with a 77mm lens filter that attaches to the lens with a 72mm adapter ring.

Works well, I have a Canon 6D Mark II and I ave no complaints.

Be careful when selecting this product. On my Hoya 77 mm 24-105 lense there was not enough thread left after the UV lense protector was added for this product to attach. And even with the lense protector removed, I could not get the hood threading to line up with the lense threads. I ended up ordering a snap on hood instead.

I needed a lens hood for my camera. Does the job.
