GiroArtex MIPS Cycling Helmet - Men's

You get what you pay for. Giro has always been a top brand, and I shouldn't have wasted my time and money on anything else. Their XL helmet fit me with room to spare, too.... just an outstanding helmet.

Giro is my favorite helmet brand but the lower half of their product range has become "Universal Adult" (one size fits all) which isn't ideal. My 58-cm head size falls near the top of Giro's range for a "Medium" and their medium helmets fit me perfectly. The fit, finish, features, and quality of the Artex MIPS helmet is excellent - it's my new favorite helmet. I like it that I can easily remove the visor for road use when I'm not on a mountain bike. Yes, the straps from the MIPS liner do touch my temples but that's common with MIPS helmets. On a non-MIPS helmet, the straps usually connect to the helmet shell (rather than to the helmet liner) putting them away from your face a little. Do you want ideal helmet retention or ideal comfort?

The first time I wore this helmet was at bike club and I was in a hurry to clip the visor to the helmet. By the end of the ride, I was ready to return the helmet to Amazon . . until I realized that I had failed to mount the visor properly to the helmet . . it had been hanging so low from my helmet that it obstructed my riding vision. Once I got the visor mounted properly to the helmet, it was much more secure and doesn’t obstruct my vision. My only suggestions for improving the helmet: Use a wider strap and a more substantial clip.

Light weight and good price

Helmet has a good snug fit that doesn't shift during mtn biking including jumps. Also use the helmet for road biking for the same reason. Good overall design, graphics are OK, chin straps are good (which is always a surprise).. Only negative is that visor is not securely fastened, been knocked off when going thru tight mtb trails.Happy with the purchase.

Best helmet I have owned. And I'm an old boomer. Quality and fit simply superb. Great air flow. Only negative point. Is the chin strap is very short. Im size 7.25 head (M helmet--fits great)average build-5 10. 170. And no hair-- it just barely adjusted to fit me. Even with this --the helmet is great.
