This product actually makes a difference in how your BBQ turns out.I only smoke Boston Butts.It melts all the fat inside.I tuned my son onto it, as he smokes butts also.He was amazed with the results.

UPDATED REVIEW BELOW: I like the other reviewers was a bit shocked to be pelted in the face with the amount of pepper in this injection when I first opened it. Truthfully I thought I was ordering the regular Butcher BBQ Pork Injection (oops!). After reading several reviews about how spicy the end product was, I decided to use not 3 scoops as directed, but just 1 scoop mixed with two cups of apple juice. I let sit for 6 hours in the fridge, then onto the smoker.My 8lb pork shoulder turned out very well, was extremely tender and had an awesome flavor throughout. I kept searching for a spicy note, but there just wasn’t. Fed a family gathering and no one said anything about being spicy, but everyone (even the little kids) commented on how good it was.I will continue to use this injection and might even bump it up to 2 scoops!UPDATE!————————-Used the Open Pit injection again, this time on a 8.5lb pork butt. I also used two scoops this time. Smoked at 265°, wrapped at 165° internal temp, off Smoker at 200°. Really, this was my best yet. Meat had a hint of heat, but far from spicy (I’m a lightweight when it comes to spicy). In fact this morning I ate some cold out of the fridge and only then did I get any hint of pepper. It was still delicious. Will use again during our big bask on July 4th! Good stuff.

Great flavor enhancer
As an avid meat smoker I love all the Butcher BBQ products I've used and as with all their other products I've tried so far, this injection added flavor to my slow smoked pork roasts.I would recomend this (and ALL Butcher BBQ) product(s)

Not sure my 3 star rating is fair...
I used it for the pork butt I made on NYE.1- I'm not sure I used it properly. The directions were different than the video I saw for the recipe I was using. Next time I'll have to just go by the packaging directions.2- I was told the pork butt had a bit of a peppered flavor. I didn't use any pepper. So I'm not sure if that came from the injection or not.I was told the pork tasted delicious and was not dry.Update- 1-18-17I used the injection as stated on the container.It had a very strong pepper flavor. Was told by 1 person it's too much pepper, don't care for it.Told by 2 others it definitely has a pepper taste. But I like it.As for my rating, I'm still saying 3 stars.I personally like pepper and am ok with the taste but would rather it was a little lessential pepper flavor
