Dried Cranberries - 5 lb.

The cranberries are fresh and have a good flavor. What I am not happy about is, that the listing states that they have sunflower oil in them. When I opened them and read the ingredients, it is not sunflower oil, but COTTONSEED oil. No one uses cottonseed oil, it has some of the highest pesticide residue of the oils and I always avoid it. So be aware, it is Not sunflower oil at all. So if you avoid cottonseed oil like I do, it would be nice if the listing was honest about it, as I would Not have ordered it if I had known it contained cottonseed oil.Here is what Andrew Weil MD had to say about cottonseed oil ---Is Cottonseed oil safe?Definitely not. As a matter of fact, in my book, Eight Weeks to Optimum Health, one of the first things I ask readers to do is to go through their pantry shelves and throw out anything made with cottonseed oil. I regard it as unhealthy because it is too high in saturated fat and too low in monounsaturated fat. What's more, cottonseed oil may contain natural toxins and probably has unacceptably high levels of pesticide residues (cotton is not classified as a food crop, and farmers use many agrichemicals when growing it). Be on the lookout for cottonseed oil in packaged foods and avoid products that contain it. Manufacturers like it because it's cheap.

Excellent flavor and quality. Arrived early and has a long expiration date. Mixed 5lbs cranberry raisins with 5lbs salted roasted cashews, and 5lbs roasted almonds with sea salt for a trail mix. I put it in Ziploc sandwich baggie and filled up a shelf in my freezer. Delicious, fresher, better quality, and cheaper than the ones at the grocery stores.

Sure get a lot of them.. They are shredded instead of a dried berry shape. Couldn't use these as a a cake decoration.

These cranberries were shipped promptly, and arrived intact. However I seem to have mis-construd the word "DRIED" in the description. My package has cranberries that are plump, tasty, and soft, and WET!!! I guess the definition of DRIED has changed drastically since my school days. However, it only cost me $20 to have a company that uses a freeze dried to dry them out so they are storable long term. I regret the purchase, but in today's world, I have learned that believing a sales description is a "CRAP SHOOT". So if you are looking for DRIED cranberries steer clear of this item!

I've used cranberries for several years in my gluten free corn bread and my morning cereal. These are very reasonably priced, juicy and just right. I re-order on a regular basis and they fit the bill perfectly for my needs.
