Life's full of tough choices.
Reading this book isn't one of them.Another fantastic book in an amazing series. If your a Disney villain fan, if you always wanted a deeper look into what makes your favorite villain tick these books are for you. Dark, a little twisted and an emotional roller coaster. You will find your self feeling for a broken Ursula, a product of her trauma, her pain. Fantastically well written, quick moving story that you may not be able to put down.

A Poor & Unfortunate Soul.
Poor unfortunate soul a tale of the sea which was not what I expected, but still keeped the level of satisfaction that I was imagining. We didn't go directly to Ursulas background like the other stories ;instead the author lead us directly to a connection between the last book (The beast with in) and this one , making some sense of satisfaction to readers that followed the order of the series 👌 (obviously these books should be read in order otherwise there would be a lot of dislike and confusion).SpoliersNow talking about the characters and their develop meant i want to be as briefly as possible.Starting with the sister; I liked to see how desperate they were to find their little sister showing that even though they look machiavellian they do have some sort of humanity within them. I loved to see how all the witches interacted with each other, and the mention of maleficent and her warning to ursulas mischievous plan.I was not expecting at all how crucial tulip and grandma were going to be for ursula's fate. Tulip's growth from the last book and this one was taken beautifully; i loved those little moment were the author showed us her thoughts about how she thought her beauty took her voice and strength showing that she wasn't a dumb empty princess as we thought.Tulip's grandma always gave that witchy feeling so I wasn't that surprised when they reviled she was a witch, but I loved her character and the hints that she was someone with more history that we thought.URSULA finally Ursula , all I have to say is that she was a victim driving by revenge; as the book itself said, she would've been different if her brother wouldn't have been such an jealous and greedy being. She was too deep into her hatred and she was consumed desperation , everything for her distrust to others.

Ursula's true story
This story felt like Ursula's untold story came to life. Some parts felt unreal, while others brought clarity to the characters, both new and old.

good read.
I liked book 1 and 2 of the series better but this was a good read overall. It kept me turning the pages so there is that.

Another Shocking Read!
Wonder of wonders, I read TWO books in ONE day!! Since I had previously read The Beast Within, the second book in Serena Valentino's Disney Villains series, I moved straight onto Poor Unfortunate Soul, which, as you can see, is Ursula's story. Hers was quite an interesting one too, I'll give you that! What I am finding myself loving about this series is seeing the movie play out in a way, yet we're seeing what's happening on the villain's point of view! In Fairest of All, we were following the Queen before she turned evil and wicked. This time we are with Ursula learning what cause her to turn to her path of evil and I must say it was pretty distressing. Hers was a sad tale like that of the Queen's. This series is definitely making one feel sympathy for these classic Disney villains. The odd sisters have come to Ursula because they want her help in finding their sister, Circe, who we previously met in The Beast Within. She has since gone missing and the sisters desperately want their youngest sister to come back to them. So they agree to help Ursula in destroying Triton so that she may be the only ruler of the sea.I found that this time there was a lot of reflecting back on the last story, which was the first one I read a few years ago, so naturally my memory wasn't so hot. We see Tulip, the young girl who was going to marry the Prince before his untimely transformation into a literal beast. Tulip wasn't doing so well with from the rejection of the Prince. And we learn she had unwittingly made a deal with Ursula that will greatly effect life as she knows it.I'm beginning to realize that these odd sisters are having their own story happening and it's building with each of these books. I'm definitely eager to get to this year's release given its Odd Sisters title! Alas, I've two more villains to read about before that and I am pretty excited to read about Maleficent and Mother Gothel! Maleficent has been mentioned several times now in these two (and like the second and thus making three) books and I am really interested in reading what her story will be like and what the odd sisters will do next given the events of this last one. This Disney Villains series is definitely one a Disney fan should not be without! It's a fun and magical series that is taking the stories we love and know by heart and showing us a different angle and letting us in on a whole new story that was always happening behind the scenes!Overall Rating 5/5 stars

I absolutely loved the stories, the fact that they're all a bit entertwined makes my mind blowing
I hadn't been so obsessed with a book series since the main series of Shadowhunters. I love Disney and knowing about the background stories of the villains is just marvelous

Dissapointment
If you wanted a story about Ursula, this ain't it.It's all about a princess named Tulip. Ursula maybe takes up a quarter of the book. It was for me a dissapointment. Maybe the series in a whole is worthwhile but not if you are like me and wanted a full book about our sassy villain.
