Higo no Kami Pocket-size 75mm, Import from Japan

I keep this little knife next to my sewing machine at work, and use it to pick apart stitches. This is my third hogo no kami, as I keep misplacing them. This particular model is superior to other versions that I've owned because the blade doesn't butt up against the brass handle unless you really try.

Very slim design, came sharp enough. I like the handle it will patina nicely and makes a very good pocket every day carry. It will need to be oiled to avoid rust on the carbon steel.

This is a pretty cool knife. Quality is good, blade is decently centered and sharper than all-get-out. It came very tight at the joint but I've added a drop of light oil and worked it back & forth until it loosened reasonably well (but nowhere near enough to come open on its own). It fit easily on my 'wire ring' with my keys and is pretty much the same length as my vehicle key. This is not a modern, highly refined knife (like my Kershaw assisted folder, for example) but is a classic, traditional, old-world style that is practical and useful.
