KEEN Women's Whisper Closed Toe Sport Sandal

I bought these sandals for a 2 week trip in Cambodia and since I was carrying only 8kgs they were my main shoes on the beach and on the countryside. They are light! I was a little worried when reading the reviews about the plastic making your feet sweat too much and causing small wounds. This was not my experience though; quite the opposite. Although the base is plastic my feet were comfortable in temperatures over 100F. There was sweat but not uncomfortable and could go all day walking without problems. The fabric cushioning the feet against the upper absorbs sweat and prevented me getting sweat rashes which unfortunately I got in Turkey using Merrel barrados with mesh (for breathability supposedly).My feet are thin so I think this was a better option than the other Keen women shoes since many reviewers say this model is a narrow fit. I used them in water and theydried without problems. The only word of caution is that when wet, the shoe becomes slippery and moves from side to side in your feet. Trying to hike on wet shoes in a trail covered with pebbles, sand, and rocks was very difficult but I couldn't avoid it at the time. But again it was better that any other choice: I decided to do a 40m walk in an easy sandy flat trail with my flip flops and the sweat with the friction of the plastic on my feet gave me a couple of blisters, something that these shoes never did in 3 days wearing them.

I've wanted a pair of Keen sandals for over a year and have read many reviews. After back surgery two years ago, I could finally start walking again but soon found that a good walking shoe wasn't easy to find. I've always worn NIKE and bought a more expensive walking style only to still have discomfort, especially after I went to bed at night. I tried different insoles in my Nike Fusion to give me extra support. In addition to the nerve damage in my feet, I also started getting callouses from my big toe rubbing the next toe. I couldn't believe it because I've always been able to wear any kind, any price shoe. So, I decided to order my Keens. I've worn them most of the last week, shopping, walking dogs, going up and down stairs, being on my feet most of the day; and I absolutely love them! The extra toe space is perfect for me! I've always worn size 6M but recently started buying a 6 1/2; so I took a chance on the 6 1/2 in Keen and found it to be a perfect fit! I enjoy the arch support since I have rather low arches; and I can honestly say these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn for hours on end. I worried about whether my feet would perspire a lot in them and so far find they are much cooler than the Sketchers I had been wearing. My problem: now I want them in different colors.

Love this shoe! The same style I bought several years ago was a half size smaller, so when I ordered the same shoe I had to return it for a half size larger. Actually the shoe I ended up with is my correct size. This is a smart, comfortable shoe.

I have avoided Keens for years because the styles were always too large and "floppy" for my narrow foot. The Whisper Sandal has changed all of that! For starters, I consistently wear a size 6.5, regardless of shoe style. I always avoid shoes that "run large" or "run small" as that inevitably leads to discomfort. Based on the reviews, I ordered a 6.5 and it was the perfect length. I also have a high arch and this provided the right amount of support, without being rigid. I'm looking forward to using this shoes on our trip to Hawaii where we will be doing lots of outdoor activities requiring a closed-toe sandal.

This is my second pair, I wear them all summer , very comfortable, waterproof great on the beach, in water and on uneven ground. I tend to stub my toes a lot and these protect my toes and stay on my feet. My first pair are 4ys old and still look good and have lots of wear left in them.

Love my keens. Have been wearing this brand for over 10 years. My first pair is still good for every day outdoors. They have been up & down Grand Canyon, Zion & Alaska to the Artic Circle. First pair came from Bass Pro on sale last pair. I usually wore size 6 & they are 61/2. So I always order 6 1/2 & they fit perfect. I will buy mine from Amazon from now on & watch for sales.

Purchased these for a cruise and excursions. They worked great for hiking to our cave tubing entry point and during the tubing itself. I was also able to use these for paddle boarding. These were exactly what I needed. They dried quickly (completely dry over night) and there's no stink to them at all. Would definitely buy again if I needed to but these seem like they'll last for a good while.

To say these shoes were a disappointment is an understatement. I ordered a size larger than suggested (I have small yet wide feet). When these shoes arrived, they appeared to be two sizes SMALLER than my actual size and about as narrow as a standard high heel. I shoved my foot in anyway and took a walk around the living room. Not fun. It felt like a weird dry massage for my feet. It took about half an hour for the sensation to go away after removing the sandals. These may be nice for a soccer mom watching her kid by the field, but I doubt they'd stand up to an actual hike.I've since discovered that a woman's size 7 fits perfectly into a "big kids" size 5. More support, much wider sandal, and less than half the price.
