I have read negative reviews about this book and cannot help thinking that perhaps the persons were looking for something more advanced.As for me, it is a good introductory volume where the author's goal is to establish good habits for much success more than selling brand or duping readers. Since I have been baking with his protocols, my skills have advanced very well. I like his approach by bringing the reader through the processes as he would an apprentice, building up to theme cakes. The skills one learns at the beginning all apply to recipes at the end of the book. Enjoy it and happy baking!

100 of Buddy's Best Recipes and Decorating Secrets...... Who wouldn't want to know some of Buddy's recipes & decorating secrets?! As a Cake Stylist, I was very happy to read and review this book. The cake world is changing everyday - who would have thought we would see the day when you can so do so many designs with cake. The possibilities are endless.I was very disappointed when I tried two of the recipes from this book. I thought maybe the editors left out an ingredient or two. I guess the real recipe is one of Buddy's secrets.Overall, this book was an okay read for me. There were a few things I learned from this book - nothing life changing. Who knows maybe one day I will try another recipe, but I'm not in a rush.

My sister loves baking so for a Christmas present I bought this alongside several baking tools for a gift basket. Made for a great addition to her cookbook collection and she has made several great recipes from the book. It really turned out to be a win/win situation for the both of us!

I love watching the Cake Boss TV program and was really happy getting this baking book. Tried a few recipes and my favorite has to be the carrot cake which I have baked countless tray for family and friends. This being an US recipe book, the sugar contents in the recipes are abit high for my Asian taste bud. When I bake from the recipes in this book, I only follow 60% of the sugar.

Having a lot of fun with this book. The recipes are great and I learned some new tricks. It may not survive being in the kitchen with me though. I'm kind of a messy baker. Hope I don't have to buy a second copy LOL. Love it!

I love to bake and create a variety of decorated cakes and cupcakes. This cookbook shows a variety of different techniques, tips and recipes. After looking through this book - I had marked several things I wanted to try. I am not a professional baker, but, relatively experienced and this book met my needs. This book may also appeal to the beginning baker, because the directions are easy to follow and offers a variety of different bakery items - from simple to more complex.

What can I say..................this book is by the CAKE BOSS himself............Buddy Valastro! Not really much else needs to be said! It's full of great information and the recipes are of course to die for!!! Almost as good as getting to actually go to Carlos Bakery!!! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to bake!! You can't go wrong. And you get to make all those fabulous Carlos Bakery goodies for your family and friends. This book is GOLD, I'm telling you!!!

Who doesn't love THE CAKE BOSS..........I know I like the guy and he has a big mouth. He's also quite amusing and has a great sense of family. What's not to love? He is quite the baker and cake decorator. I could only hope to be ten percent as good as he is (I think he was born with baking in his blood).This book is excellent and I have tried several of his baking recipes. Good going CAKE BOSS.

Love it. After watching all the programs I had to treat myself to the book and I wasn’t disappointed. There are some great recipes and a few new ingredients that were new to me but make a big difference. Easy to follow instructions and some great pictures. For beginner and advanced bakers. Great present for that baker in your life and you would earns some big brownie points and get to eat some great cakes. I would buy again.

A good book for a hobby baker but that's about it.i love to watch cake boss and ordered this book expecting great things. Was disappointed in the content as expecting a higher quality of work from buddy.It is an American book with measures in cups etc. The book didn't feature many cakes to decorate and one is a thanks giving turkey.Lots of recipes for yummy biscuit and pastries though.
