I recently bought a very nice bbq pit that’s locally made near me but to my surprise the grill that came with it was extremely substandard. As you can see in my pictures - original grill was very flimsy expanded metal and my first time using the pit I almost lost a $75 brisket due the to grill sliding out from under the meat while flipping it over! I decided to upgrade by buying these cast iron grates. My pit measures 19 1/2” in depth and 46” in width. The grates I ordered are exactly 19” in depth and 12 1/2” wide each. So I ordered two sets. One of the grates I was able to cut in half at 8” to finish off the total grill surface. As seen I welded in two lengths of 1” angle iron front and back (note* I did not remove the original bars that held the original grill. I actually used them as a guid to weld the new “grill racks” to. I did however grind the original welds on those bars flat so that my new angle iron would sit flat prior to welding. After LOOSLY installing everything in place I was able to final weld the racks to the walls of the pit. I did not weld the cast iron grates as I will need to be able to remove them in order to clean the pit on occasion.These grates fit FANTASTICALLY!!! They keep their heat very evenly and I was able to smoke 5 racks of ribs all at once! (I had room to spare as well). Now I don’t have to worry about losing my meat into the depths of a nasty hot bbq pit due the grill sliding out from under the meat!!! Hope this review helps someone else in need of a “grill” upgrade!!!

First time using a cast iron grate. Needed last minute to fix my Sam’s Club Big Event 8-burner gril, so I bought 2 sets. Side to side they fit great, front to back was a little loose, but worked. They could’ve been a little deeper by like 1/2” or so. But it didn’t interfere with grilling. They were a little pricey, but I didn’t have much choice. It was the best option on Amazon for my grill. Loved grilling on cast iron. Cleaned them and seasoned them before using. No chicken stuck on them! We grilled 40 lbs of chicken for a church picnic. Was worth it. Would buy again if the price came down. The grill brand new was $400. It hurt to buy new grates for $140, but I should get a few mores years out of it.

These grates are very heavy and work perfectly with my grill.

Solid product, fit perfectly and cooked great. Really surprised on the quality for the price.

It is a little pricy but its definitely an upgrade. Size is what it says and it holds heat very evenly. I am happy with my purchase.
