Sonic Blur?
Hard to believe that it has almost been 30 years since America first gazed upon the blue blur from Sega known as Sonic The Hedgehog. He may have had a lot of adventures that has been cagey at times, but he still remains relevant for his hardest core fans. But outside of his own adventures, he has had a lot of mixed games. Some of them, that were not strong like Sonic Bash for the Saturn,, as a knockoff to Mario Party and Sonic 3-D Blast which gave a nice 3-D turn for the Blue Blur on the Genesis, but didn't work as thoroughly as fans would've wanted. Then you have a lot of racing games from Sonic. Most of them have been mixed as well. Some of them good like Sonic Riders was for the Nintendo Gamecube, and others falling flat like Sonic Boom form 6 years ago. But Sega has decided to go back to his racing skills with his more recent escapade. Getting a chance to play it left me more mixed, but still enjoying the thrill of the race.Team Sonic Racing is a kind of racing that works different than regular racers, considering it is a team racer than a individual racing game. The team emphasis does tries to work in the same way the Team Red VS. Blue gameplay did with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, by separating you into 4 teams: Vector, Amy, Sonic and Dr. Robotnik. There are around 20 tracks for you to race on, which look and feel like the classic track layups we have seen in past Sonic racing games (Sonic & Sega-All Stars Racing Transformed from 2012.) The courses look amazing on their own, but in regards to the way you play with the Team, it is the overall placing of the team that can determine how you finish in a race. It can be a great handicap at times, or a near miss. You have to easily manage off of your partners to help maintain your score, which can also help you earn extra power-ups and boosts to make it across the finish line. Graphically, the game looks amazing and feels like a nice step up from where Sonic and his friends may have not been able to show it in their adventures past like Sonic Forces. The music also works well, which can be a great complement to the game. There are also challenge events that do test you well, but you would need to easily advance yourself with customizing your cars, so you can advance more easily in time trials, ring collection and going through gates to score medals. The control scheme takes a bit to get used to, but can very useful with team races by passing your items to your partners, and performing a handicap boost for your cohorts to go faster in the races.Sadly though, there are a few missteps that do also flow through on Team Sonic Racing. The first on of them is the story alone. It in itself is mostly filled with garble and feels more like you want to just fall asleep with it. It isn't as driven as was the case with a title like F-Zero GX. Thankfully, you can easily skip it as it comes up and just play the races in adventure mode. Also, the control scheme takes a bit more to get used to. It isn't as strong as Mario Kart has shown in its legacy, and a bit of a fallback than what Sonic's past racing games have achieved. Because it is a team-based game, you have to rely on more cooperation from your partners to make it to the checked flag. Unfortunately, that work also shows that you cannot be able to perform stunts as well as you would like racing on your own to boost your own engine. You can also race on your own, but it does have a few drawbacks too, because the controls aren't as straight-forward to the balance of the game.Still, despite with nearly all of its disadvantages, Team Sonic Racing does mostly accomplish to what it is made of doing. It is a team racer that basically works in the way it is setup for. While I would've liked the setup to work easier for most parts of the individual racer, it works well for hard core Sonic fans, as well as those that have never played a Team-based racing game before. While I would've liked to see it shine in the way Mario Kart 8 Deluxe greatly did in the end, it still has a lot of potential to draw hard core Sonic The Hedgehog fans in, and keep them racing for more. You can easily say to Sonic, Gotta Go Faster, But Speedy Enough.Graphics: B+Sound: BControl: C+Fun & Enjoyment: B- for solo play; B 1/2- for multiplayerOverall: B-

Necesita mejorar

Meh...
I REALLY enjoyed sonic all star transformed, it was hardcore gameplay in the sega universe, amazing game! This sequel... man its such a letdown, less characters and a wonky team gameplay gimmick, the races play in teams, you basically have to help your dumb ai teammates to rank high, and i really dont like that, you can finish the race in first place and you will lose because its the team score that matters. So far not impressed....

It’s alright
The game is alright, in comparison to Mario Kart, it falls short. If trying to decide between the two, Mario Kart is head and shoulders above Sonic Racing.

Excellent!
Was a birthday present and it was a well lived game. Came in excellent condition and I wouldn’t think twice before ordering another game off of here! 😊
