What a great factual book on snakes! (Kindle Version)
I have to admit I am not a fan of the snakes in general. In fact, I don't think I have read a complete book on snakes until this one. I found the facts to be very engaging and interesting. I actually learned a few facts regarding snakes! However, I still don't like them. The pictures are amazingly crystal clear and beautiful. I like the fact that I can double click (kindle version) on a picture and it automatically brings it to a full screen picture. Unfortunately, throughout the book, the publisher made a few mistakes in not filling up all the empty spaces with beautiful, amazing, life like pictures of the highlighted snakes. Unfortunately, the plain picture of the Boa Constrictor (Loc. 97 of 388) does not emphasize the magnitude of this killer snake. It definitely did not do the Boa Constrictor justice. The Table of Contents should be printed on one page instead of two pages. Also, in the Table of Contents the spacing is off with the chapter titles: Corn Snake, Garter Snake, California King Snake, and the Milk Snake. As the reader, it bothers me when the spacing between words is not consistent. For example, in the first chapter in the fourth line of the subtitle "Snake Fact"s, there are too many spaces between the words "according" and "to" and "to" and "their". It looks like the columns must follow the block form, which I think is why the publisher spaced the words out. It seems that when I turn back pages to reread, the page text and pictures shifts. This is very confusing to the brain of an adult and as a child it must be even more so. Often a reader will memorize the text along with its placement on the page. But if the text or picture changes location on a page every time the reader rereads then the reader might not be as successful in learning or memorizing the information. As a teacher, I could see this book being read by students in the 2nd-8th grades. This is an outstanding research resource. I would recommend this book due to its factual statements and the amazing, beautiful pictures.I received this book for a discount for my open and honest review of this book.

Great for any reader
I ordered this book for my 7 year old son whom is infatuated with science, animals and learning.I love that this book has a table of contents that you can click on the chapter you want to read and it goes to that chapter. Not a lot of books have that and you have to scroll through the book to find what your looking for. This book has snake facts that talk about what group of animal they belong and what type of reptile they are. It also tells how they live and lay eggs to have babies. It also tells the top 10 snakes and interesting facts about each snake. This book is longer that i expected it to be. I also expected it to be cheesey and have facts that are well known. This book really surprised me on the information that it had in it. Even at 30 years old I learned stuff about snakes that i did not know. The pictures in this book are outstanding. They are real pictures and not artist drawn. This book is amazing and i defiantly recommend her other books as well. Check out other 101 Fun Fact books by Janet EvansThe one thing that gets kind of confusing is that these facts are all numbered as 1 instead of 1-101.I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest review. The price i paid in no way effects my review. If you have any questions please let me know and i will try to answer them to the best of my ability

A fun book about snakes
I download a lot of books like this to read to my nephew, but I have to admit that this is one that I was just really interested in. I've always loved snakes and really have never been afraid of them. My uncle had pythons and boas when I was a kid so I got to hold them and play with them so I was able to overcome any fears. They really are amazing animals. I also love the snake room at the zoo, especially because I get to see snakes like cobras, which I would definitely never want to see in the wild. Of course, it probably helps that there are very few snakes where I live (Denver) and of the ones we do have in Colorado, few are venomous. This is just one of those fun, quick Kindle books that I can keep on my phone and tablet to read when I'm waiting for an appointment or something else. It's just some fun facts about snakes and you can skip around and read it in any order you want, so it's easy if you just have a few minutes. There are some good photos of snakes, which are helpful for identifying them. Overall, it's a fun book with a lot of interesting facts that you can use to impress friends and hopefully my five-year-old nephew. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will get back to you as soon as possible. And if you found my review helpful, please vote yes. Thanks!
