If I have to choose an introductory book for a Jewish fellow who is looking to read a short essay with a comprehensive content about the history and essence of the Jews as religion, nation, and race, this is the bookWritten with an easy language and very clear and concise concepts, nobody will have the same view of everyday world after finishing these rich pagesThe author Historian and Rabbi, makes at the beginning a survey of the biggest ancient civilizations (Greece and Rome) considered the producers of the ideas, ways of life and principles that gave rise to the development of the Western World and shows how traditional school teaching was wrong, in fact the first seeds of the principles ruling today Western civilization originated in the five books of Moses,On a second part it dedicates some chapters to briefly explain the Dark Middle Ages in Europe and how the Church distorted and censored Jesus preaching, based on the holy values of the Books of Moses, in order to promote mass ignorance and monopolize economic powerFinishes with very convincing elements explaining how the United States from its very beginnings with the Mayflower pilgrims arrival in Massachusetts helped to constitute a free democratic nation following the values of every individual right to life, freedom, justice, education for all and social benefits based on the mandates of the Jewish Holy Book, the TorahThe above US chapter ("America the beautiful") and the author final conclusions are in my opinion the most juicy sections of the book, as they provide the best insights, teachings and pieces of wisdom that he can convey to us from this outstanding essayIt you happen to be Jewish, it is a mitzvah (a divine command) to perform acts of kindness, everyday, so buy one volume for your best Jewish friend, first, and another one for you thenYou will never regret it !!!

Rabbi Ken Spiro is a wonderful teacher of history....interesting, authoritative, funny at times. Don’t think anyone would be falling asleep in his classes! He knows how to condense a great deal of information, giving the reader or listener a good series of snapshots about how GOD has dealt with this world through the Nation HE chose to be a Light unto the a Nations.

Having read *Crash Course* by the same author, this one shows a whole different side to the Jewish world.Crash Course was about our history and the patterns that come up over the years.This book is about our influence and how so many things that we do now have been influenced by the Jews.From the Founding Fathers, to medieval England, it is just interesting to see where Jews touched and what were their impact to society economically, morally, and more.Some of the book overlaps with Crash Course, but that is just to remind the readers where we are coming from, and from there - you see the influence spreading throughout the land.LOVE the author as well. He has a way to make history enjoyable and does so in a story telling fashion that is inspiring and engaging.

A well written book on the impact of the Jewish people

Considering the span of history that the author covers this is an amazing compact read. It is written in a very reader friendly flow. The author also chooses appropriate quotations from various historians and commentators that fit right in to the era discussed.The author successfully gives a backdrop to the history of the world in juxtaposition with the Jewish struggle for survival not only as a nation but the very religion itself. Given that, it is a remarkable story and a very pleasant read.

This was so interesting I loved learning new things .The rabbi sure has a wonderful way with words.English is my second language and it was great to learn things I did not know. Buy this even if you know a lot already it was fantastic.

Liked this so much I loaned it out the day after I read it and as a result others were provoked to explore the author and spend hours reading up on what he has available on line. If you care about Israel and her place in history this is well worth the time to read.

This is by far the best book on comparative moral studies of culture. You will definitely be blessed by the wealth of knowledge that Rabbi Spiro brings forth. The book is entertaining and very in-depth. Spiro brings forth unconventional knowledge that definitely educates the mind and inspires the soul. G-d Bless you, Rabbi Spiro!

is this book on the impact of Judaism on Civilization. This page turner is much more than just a plain history book. The author beautifully draws the strings together when juxtaposing values and mores of different cultures to those that spring from Ethical Monotheism. The analyses, insights, thoughts and comments of the author I found just excellent. WorldPerfect is an xtremely important and timely read particularly for those who through their words and deeds influence the course of their respective society. It reminds us that in order to truly move ahead, we need to know where we come from lest our dreams about a better future become the nightmares of the past...
