Not adequate for my needs
This book is fine for maybe someone doing a quick-start in Labview for a simple experiment or two (simulating simple electrical circuit or measuring a thermocouple), but not if you want to become an expert in Labview. It's not overwhelming which is nice, well illustrated, etc. It's more like "do this and then watch this".I checked out "Hands-On Introduction to LabVIEW for Scientists and Engineers" by John Essick from the library and was so impressed that I ordred it from Amazon immediately. It is basically a full textbook and not just a quick-start guide. Hands-On Introduction to LabVIEW for Scientists and Engineers

Labview for Circuit and Signal analysis
This book is 133 pages of good examples if you intend to use labview for Circuit or signal analysis. I don't know why anyone would really want to do that since there are many other programs out there that are much better suited to do this. The only real application I can see for this is if you need to simulate an instrument that will monitor a signal of some sort. I was able to get some use out of this book with the example using DAQMax and a NI USB-6009.

This was a great way to get started once I downloaded the evaluation package from National Instruments. I assembled and ran all the examples. There was one case where I found a small bug but overall it was a good way to start doing something for learning purposes. I would recommend purchasing this before the download so that you can take full advantage of the evaluation period.
