When and how did your IBS begin? Know your history of your symptoms.
I liked this book because the author does well addressing the beginning of IBS, from childhood possible to medications, hormones, etc. She does an excellent job. However, IBS suffers should follow a FOBMAP diet which she doesn’t even touch that subject. Fermentable, oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyps. Monash University has spent 10 + yrs studying this and they have an app for your phone. Download it! Do a six week elimination diet and learn what you can tolerate. Fructans, soy, high corn fructose, lactose, even a whole list of vegetables and grains and fruit should be addressed. Unfortunately, the book doesn’t address this well. But, does an excellent job in other areas.

Informative
This book was very informative but I already knew most of what was in the book from research of my own. I would suggest this book to anyone suffering from IBS who wants to learn more about this health issue. Great book.

Another great book on IBS!
Very detailed in information on IBS, I don't regret buying it. Very informative and detailed in different ways compared to my other IBS books. It is a question and answer book where it gives answers on questions asked about IBS. It has recipes as well and teaches you about the condition. It tells you what to stay away from and why.

Good book if it's not the only one you read.
This book focuses too much on just fiber and not enough on the difference between soluble and insoluble fiber. Insoluble fiber and even a low-fat meal can be a deadly combination for an IBS sufferer. The recipes that the author considers invaluable for an IBS diet contain fat that is far in excess of what I could tolerate. I have a master's degree in nutrition and have also studied food chemistry and baking properties. There are other alternatives to the relativly high-fat and high insoluble fiber that this author recommends.

extreemly helpful
I've had IBS for years and was always told to eat fibre. This book is an eyeopener as it tells you which fibre is good and which is bad! Also useful tips on which foods are the worst sinners for IBS sufferers. Only drawback is its American so the foods which are branded and recommended are not available overhere and some of the US terminology is odd. However a useful tool in helping yourself live with IBS.

Irritable Bowel
I have suffered for over 30 years & no one seems to understand the condition. This book was quite informative if you are a new sufferer.
