Works great for removing hooks
As the description implies, this works great for removing hooks. The thing I will end up needing is a lanyard for it as I almost dropped it from the bridge I was fishing at. Other than that oversight on my part these have worked well for me. I have to get used to the locking mechanism but I am getting the hang of operating it with one hand.

Sturdy enough for hook removal
These hemostats are sturdy enough for removing fish hooks from fish. I have had other pairs that are a bit flimsy and fail to hold the hook while trying to remove the hook from the jaw

Perfect hook remover
Awesome tool for fishing. I simply clip it on to my belt loop next to a retractable line clipper tool, and its right there ready to tactfully and harmlessly take hooks out. So far I havent used it on anything big enough to eat, but the three smallmouth bass and tiger trout all under 7 inches were very easy to take the hook out without causing any more damage or wasting time. Theyll livr to bite another day!

Does not make the fish bigger.
These were very nice and do a great job removing the hooks. I bought a couple of pair for fly fishing. Only 4 stars for 2 reasons. The curve on the two were not consistent. One pair was about 45° and the other almost 90°. The most important reason though was the fish I caught were not any larger. Okay, so only 1 valid reason. So much better than needle nose pliers to use.

Broke on first use.
I had ordered two of these to use while fishing. Both of them snapped in half on first use, one of them broke in half first time i clamped it down (with nothing in it). Second one bent out of shape and then snapped off on first hook removal.

Snipper gripper
I use them on fish. When a fish deep swallows my worm. I use these to reach deep down and gently grab my hook to not injure the fish. Also I used them today to save a homeless man who was hooked in the crotch by a crazed maniac who didn’t look where he was casting. We were able to save the mans worm and the hook with little damage great tool for multiple uses. I am now thinking that this man might need to visit the doctor and get a tb shot as the fish cause an infection. Then he become homeless woman.
