Very Impressive Alien Blueprint Collection from a Very Talented Designer!
As a collector of some of Graham's individual Alien blueprints years back, I was both shocked & pleasantly surprised to recently see he had a book of all his work on the Alien series available for pre-order. Needless to say I pre-ordered on the spot. Having the book now in hand I am beyond impressed with the presentation, professional layout, intricately detailed & sheer number of blueprints provided in this very sturdy book. It looks like Graham has been very busy these last 5-10 years! Every movie in the series is represented here with multiple blueprints of the ships, facilities, escape vessels, rovers, etc. I was very happy with the inclusion of portions of the penal facility from Alien 3, a personal favorite film of mine. Some ships due to their extended length are presented on fold out sheets. Book is large but not cumbersome. The larger size is a bonus to check out every little detail provided. Very much recommended for any fans of the Alien series. Lastly, to Graham: incredible work, Sir; looking forward to Volume 2 (lol).

Beautiful Book!
PACKED with details. If you want to know what those domes are for on the bottom of the refinery ship that the Nostromo is towing in the movie--if that's the type of thing that interests you--then look no further. This book was written for you.Printed on nice, thick, glossy paper. Hardbound book.Set it on the coffee table and watch who picks it up!

Great book for Alien/Aliens movie fans!
My technical side enjoys these types of drawing collections (StarTrek being another example). I was extremely satisfied with this purchase, especially as a core fan of the original two movies ( Alien, Aliens). There is extensive material covering Alien and Aliens. Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection is also covered. Prometheus and and Alien: Covenant is included, though the material is lighter. I had even more appreciation for this book after reading that the author/illustrator started it as a side project. His research included connecting with some of people involved with original designs/set-builds/extended source material, but also included alot of pressing 'pause' while watching the movie.

Excellent book.
I didn’t even know this book existed until I saw a post on Facebook with somebody being ecstatic over having found one on eBay. I immediately thought that the book was out of print so I went to eBay and I saw that the book was being sold but something told me to check Amazon just in case. I’m glad I did because the book obviously is in print and reasonable price and if you are a member of prime, you will get the free shipping and what can I say except this is a great great reference book that I would highly recommend any fan of the alien series of books and movie and more. I have never seen a book related to the alien films that goes into as much detail with the blueprints than this book. It’s really beautifully put together and I like the fact that it has a nice hard cover to it and it doesn’t have a book jacket so you don’t have to worry about something like that ripping overtime if you have a lot of books on your bookcase, and they squeeze together tightly. I think this book is a definite purchase as a reference book along with the Wayland Yutani Report.! if you get those two books, you’re pretty much covered on most things unless you want to get Super details in which case I would recommend recommend the art books as well as some of the more specialized books like the one featuring David drawings from alien covenant the fact that this includes all six films is great as well because whether you like them or not, at least you can see it all in one place. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan, and I am very pleased of my purchase.

A beautiful mixed bag
Although I don't have a great interest in the "Alien" series beyond the first two movies, the idea of a book that featured detailed diagrams of all the franchise's major vehicles and locations was tremendously appealing to me. Considering how claustrophobic and disorienting the series' sets tend to be, I have to applaud anyone who can piece them together into a cohesive whole. The finished result is something of a gorgeous mixed bag; lavishly detailed, authentic-looking, but feels like two books bolted together in the middle. For the first two-thirds at least, "Alien: The Blueprints" borders on five stars. The blueprints are big, clear, and superbly detailed, taking full advantage of the huge page size. They actually look like hard-copy technical readouts that would exist in-universe, complete with peripheral formatting and specifications. Highlights for me include a full set of deck plans of the "Nostromo," detailed descriptions for each of the vehicles in the first two movies, perspective views of Hadley's Hope and its medlab and operations center, sectional views of the APC and dropship, and a fold-out of the "Sulaco" with descriptions of all of its weapons and combat systems. Even the EEV and the Diahotai tractor from the "Aliens" special edition are shown in some detail. The commonly held consensus seems to be that each film in the franchise post-"Aliens" (or, if you're generous, "Alien 3") was mediocre, forgettable, or absolutely terrible. While I'm not here to review the movies, there's undoubtedly still some pretty impressive hardware on display in them. Unfortunately, the rest of the book seems to reflect that consensus. Only 50 pages are devoted to "Resurrection," "Prometheus," and "Covenant," compared with 93 for the first three films. The detailed specifications also disappear at this point, leaving only basic "length/width/height" information. The "Betty" and "Auriga" only receive external views; the blueprints of the latter aren't even annotated! The "Prometheus" blueprints are sharply executed, but again, are thinly annotated, and except for a plan and section of the Rover, only feature external views. The "Covenant" chapter fares better, with numerous views of the lander's interior, a double-sided foldout of the title ship, and plans of its bridge, cryogenic compartment, and nursery. In fairness, I can see why Titan Books would have divided up this book the way they did. After all, how many copies would "Alien Resurrection: The Blueprints" sell, and would the average man on the street even know that a sixth "Alien" movie came out in 2017? As beautiful as it might be, I'm somewhat disappointed at how unbalanced it is. There's still plenty of excellent material here, more than justifying a four-star rating, and "Alien" fans are sure to love it. I just can't call it a masterpiece.
