Not the best for paint markers
I bought this with a few other notebooks to see which I liked for my Posca markers. I like this book overall, but the surface doesn't hold up extremely well with friction from the pens. Not bad, not great.

Not a whole 50 pages - only 46-47
I ordered these for an art challenge, 100 pages in 5 days. I was short 7 pages. They count the cardboard covers and the advertisement insert as sheets apparently. I was mad about the count as I had to scramble for extra paper, but I cannot complain about the quality. I Would Not use this for watercolor or acrylic as it bowed badly but it held up for colored pencil and Copics just fine. The quality wasn’t bad, it was just lighter weight than I was expecting for a mixed media paper. Check the weight, it’s only 67 lbs.

Acceptable for Art Journal
I bought this to use for Art Journaling as I thought the pages were of a heavier paper, but they are not and even though I used Gesso on some of them some paints and markers still leak through. I like how it lays flat and I like the size of the pages but I wish the paper was of a better quality.

multimedia book
Update: Bought another one because I liked the first one. Disappointed to find that the book was assembled backwards. This sketchbook has 2 different page textures. Smooth surface and a slightly rougher surface(sketching). The Smooth surface would be more for finished pieces. Inconsistent product.By far one of my favorite drawing books for multimedia art/drawing. It's more medium wait and I don't not recommend using alot of paints or watercolors. But brush pens work fine and the paper doesn't bleed.

Lays flat and Good Quality
This really does stay flat.My only problem with it is that I tried to do a watercolor on one of the pages, but it started tearing up the paper and getting crinkly. On the next sheet, I used a sharpie maker. While it did not bleed on to the page behind it, I could see it on the back of the page. I could even see a bit of pen marks from the pen I used. This doesn’t pose much of an issue, unless you planned on trying to use both sides of a page.I’d buy again.

Nice Journal But Could be Sturdier
I love that this journal lays flat but I find myself constantly trying to repair the pages that get loose. If not for that, I would have given it 5 stars.

Excellent quality for an affordable price.
I love this book!!! I was looking for something to begin learning how to make a "Smashbook". This is absolutely the perfect sketchbook I need. It lays flat (which is important) when opened to any page, the paper is the perfect thickness on which to paint, draw, glue or color. I've been searching a while to find this gem - Michael's, Office Depot, etc. They have nothing like this, their options are very small. I love this book!!! I'd give it a 10 rating if it was available.

NOT GOOD FOR ANY PAINTING, but for pencil like media- sure
for me- this is a bust, the paper did not hold up to acrylic, as you can see my gluing, and art pencils worked but when I tried acrylics, I realized that it did not take acrylics like this review posted: " The paper itself is good quality, and takes a range of liquid media (gesso, watercolors, acrylics) well. "NO, NO, NO... I would love to have seen their gesso, etc... for me i am disappointed, so if you just want a sketch pad that lays flat to make an art piece like my work in progress- great... but paints will warp. this all depends on your needs, hope this helps you! btw- all books with a glued binding will simply fall apart in time, Coptic stitched journals are a better alternative I feel. To get 5 stars- change the name and stress- NO PAINTS...
