Perfect!
This replaces the winter tube/plug that came with our pool and home when we purchased it 12 years ago. It is perfect and does the job it was designed for.

just closed my inground pool for the winter. these were easy to use and feel they are good quality. I would buy them again

Worked the first year, failed the second year.
This product worked as advertised for the first winter and then failed this winter. The product is designed to absorb the freezing water in the skimmer box. Last year, the water froze, the product worked and nothing leaked. This year, the product collapsed on itself, as intended, but collapsed at the seal. This caused water to drain from the skimmer back into the line that had been drained and winterized. Once filled with water, this drain line that was properly drained for winter cracked at the union valve above ground during a freeze. We could not stop the water leaking from the now cracked valve and could not replace the valve because that line was now filled with water. To repair the line, we are draining the pool below the skimmer water line and have a service appointment scheduled to replace the pipe and valve and to look for any other damage. The time and cost to make up for a poorly constructed product is a another lesson learned along the lines of "you get what you pay for", and "this is the price you pay for the price you pay." It is the cheapest part that fails and causes the problems so do not buy this product - find a well made part similar in design to this one but that actually works. If you don't mind spending time and money repairing your pool's plumbing when this product fails or if you live in a climate that does not see freezing temperatures, then this is the part for you.

Leaked...but no harm done.
What? I have to say more? Ok...how about I would say more, but what is the point other than it leaked. Here is where the seller could write a comment that they are sorry and blah blah blah...but oh wait...they can't. Please child...what a crap move by JB.

PERFECT
About time someone thought of putting a blowout hole on top so that you can clear the line without having to try to screw this in while water is bubbling up all over the place. Also the rubber O-ring gives the added security of no leaking around the threads.
