The Articulate Witness: An Illustrated Guide to Testifying Confidently Under Oath

The book is simplistic…hand gestures, voice level, sit up straight, think before you talk. Took about 15-20 minutes to read book. I was hoping for something more in depth about answer/wording format.

It is hard for me to judge this book. But it wasn't written for me, a trial lawyer. It's written for our clients.I gave a copy to two clients. They had a trial coming up that was VERY important to them. My clients said this book was very helpful, answered many of their questions, and put them at ease.That was money well spent, to my eye. From now on, in addition to having my usual prep session with them, I am going to place a copy of this book in the hands of every one of my clients before they testify at depositions or trials.

I used this to prepare a terrible witness. She was overly intimidated by the process; and it made a difference.

Nothing I didn’t already know.

First-time witnesses will truly appreciate the guidance in this book - it effectively distills down the job of the witness on the stand in a friendly, manageable format. Attorneys who use this book to help prepare witnesses will find that it furnishes a great foundation of understanding for their witnesses that they can build from - each of the points are key to an effective presentation on the stand. I have not found another tool that is as effective and easy to understand.

As a lawyer, I think this book should be in every litigator's office to give to anyone they expect to testify in trial. Many witnesses are not prepared and this book covers everything they should know. And it is written in language - with pictures - that anyone can understand.Kudos to Brian Johnson and Marsh Hunter for writing this book.In accordance with FTC guidelines I did receive this book as a "win" from Goodreads.
