The good news is that now my 2 year old can reach the bathroom sink by herself. The bad news is that now my 2 year old can reach the bathroom sink by herself. It is nice to not have hold her up while she washes her hands but she really, really, REALLY loves to splash, so the independence is a mixed blessing for me. Anyway, the product review...I am surprised at how strong this is and how easy to use and how big it is. It folds down remarkably thin considering how large it is. I posted a picture of my 2 little kids on the stool at the same time. They both brush their teeth on it at the same time and have no trouble fitting. No pushing or shoving or fighting either! We have a sink that comes out farther than the cabinet underneath, which makes most stools difficult to use for my tiny daughter. This one is high enough because it has 2 steps and comes out far enough so that she is not hanging under the sink.Because we have a smaller bathroom, we keep the stepstool on the back of the closet door. It folds up with one hand - literally, one hand - and just hangs right on the door knob. It also unfolds with one hand. Although I read in the product description that it was one-handed operable, I really did not believe it until I tried it myself. When I opened the box, I thought it looked huge and complicated. I looked at the handle that says "open" and I was like, "what do I do with this? It doesn't say what to do." So I just grabbed the handle and lifted it up and the whole thing popped right open. Seriously. That easy. The reason the handle only says "open" is because that is all you have to do. Grab it and pull. Closing is just as simple. Grab the handle that says "close" and pull.One thing to note for someone who may have problems with strength: it is a little bit heavy and big so keep that in mind if you have problems with that sort of thing. I used to work with the elderly and I know that there were some I worked with that would have had trouble with this.

First, let me say I've experienced none of the negatives mentioned by other reviewers. This stool is well-built within the bounds of a lightweight plastic step stool. That said, I wouldn't count on it for more than a 200-pound person, and then with care. It is NOT built like a rugged aluminum or fiberglass ladder. It's made for stable, vertical loads and would not tolerate any real side-loading.This is a LARGE stool compared to the other one-step plastic products. My measured dimensions are a bit different from the web site's: 25 x 21.5 x 1.5. When open, the top step measures roughly 9 x 17, huge compared to almost any other choice.The base has non-slip feet which appear to be effective on my hardwood floors. Due to the box-like construction, the base will tolerate a small amount of unevenness in the surface, which helps with stability.The color of my stool is a medium-dark gray, not the beige in the web picture. I prefer this.One of the nicest features is the quick-fold and quick-unfold. There are two handles which nest into the top step, clearly marked OPEN and CLOSE, and they work superbly without any risk of pinching or inadequate deployment. It folds up to less than 2" thick, without even looking at it - - just pick it up by the CLOSE handle. Likewise, pick up the folded stool by the OPEN handle and it's open and ready for business, just set it where you want it. Sometimes it needs a little firm "pat" to settle the top step.Bottom line, I am delighted with this product and will probably purchase another one or even two.UPDATE October 2013Been using this stool HARD now for several months, no issues whatsoever. Tough, reliable, sturdy. Sometimes it will be only partially deployed when I stand on it (oops), but it just settles into position and works fine. Even if the plastic cracks and breaks after a while, I'd still buy a replacement because it's so handy. I'm buying a second one for the motorhome (it stashes away nicely and doesn't rattle).

I had been looking for a folding step stool for our camping trailer. I had looked online and at other retail outlets. I had found other folding stools, but they were too short and higher priced. After finding the item on the Amazon site, I reviewed the description and decided to order. I had my stool within days of ordering. It was exactly what I was looking for. The stool is sturdy yet light and portable. It folds for flat for storage. I have purchased several items from Amazon and have yet to be disappointed. Thanks again Amazon for offering just was I was looking for at an affordable price.

I needed a step stool for my 3yo in the bathroom, so she can brush her teeth, wash her hands, etc independently. But everything took up so much space! Something we don't have. Enter this very compact (when folded) and durable step stool. It slides between the wall and the toilet when not in use, and my now 4yo can easily pull it out, carry it over to the sink, and unfold it by herself in order to do what she needs to do there. I love it. I love how it supports her independence, I love how it stows away in the narrowest of crevices, I love how easy it is to open and close, and I love that it's incredibly durable. It's also very tall, which was hard to find in step stools (something tall enough that actually effectively got her to a height where she could reach the faucet and soap). And b'c it's a double-wide, I don't worry about her falling off the sides if she happens to be not paying attention to her surroundings. It has rubber feet on the bottoms so it stays in place. Very sturdy and safe.

I use this two step to help me mount my horse! It’s light to carry around but very sturdy to step on. I LOVE the two handle system! One handle opens everything up and the other handle folds it all back again! Great idea and extremely practical. A little pricy but so far it has not fallen apart at all! I will gladly pay a tad more for quality!

This is a great stool - very sturdy, can be used as a seat - super convenient to lift and fold.

This was perfect for our needs -getting a toddler up to the sink to brush teeth and wash hands. With little storage in our bathroom an folding stool was the best way to go. Very easy to open and close which is handy. Have noted previous comments about child safety and little fingers when closing -I think so long as it's out of his reach when folded that should be fine. I do not think it can actually sustain the weight it is marketed for -my 150lb husband can stand on it but it looks scarily flimsy under him.

Bought this for our 2yo son that always want to see what we're up to in the kitchen. He's able to fold and unfold it and do it by himself. We use it to reach higher cabinets. Feels solid and fits everywhere

This is a sturdy stool that I am using that is wide and deep enough for an adult. It opens and closes by touch of a finger and is so compact and light that makes storing it so easy
