CAPM Exam Prep Study Guide: Belinda's All-in-One Program for Exam Success

On March 20th, I filled out my application to take the exam, and secured my spot at the testing facility on April 23rd. A little more than a month to study.I started paging through the PMBOK Guide and didn't think there was much to it. I am glad I was wrong and got this book. This book, not only helps you get an idea of how the test will be, it really enhances one's understanding of the material and how one should think in various situations. The examples in this are very important to understand. There is a lot of material within this book which may seem intimidating, but if you are serious about the CAPM, this is the book to use. The chapter reviews, exams, exercises and mock exam really help prepare the dedicated individual prepare for the exam.I am now proud to say, I passed my CAPM exam and hit the 'Above Target' section in all areas of the exam. Please use this book as a tool not only to pass, but to understand.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I spent a lot of time going through the PMI online training and didn’t feel like I was getting much out of it. I decided I would give this book a try. There’s so much information in this book, but it’s presented in a way that is easy to digest and much less dry than the PMBOK. I bought it about a month before my scheduled exam date. In that time I read the book cover to cover.I honestly didn’t feel overly confident going in to my exam, I think just because having had to rush through the book in a short time. I went in and passed the exam on my first take. I was above target on all but 3 sections.I can not recommend this book enough. If you’re looking for a CAPM study guide, this is the one for you!

I just began reading this book and love it. I took the CAPM exam earlier this year and unfortunately failed it. I used the PMBOK as my study guide and I had a hard time with it.This book is so easy to read and understand. The book is broken up into 4 section with 3-4 chapters in each section. There is a 15 question quiz after every chapter, a test after each section and a final exam.I have a very good feeling that with this book, I will be successful the 2nd time I take the exam!

I'm writing this about 8 months after receiving my CAPM designation - I ended up passing with above target in 12 of 13 categories, and target in one category.Overall, this was a very solid study guide that was well-written and summarized concepts in an easily digestible way. It wasn't tough to get through all of the material, and there were plenty of examples that made reinforcement of learned concepts quite helpful. The editor/publishing company could do a better job of proofreading and grammar checking, but this wasn't enough of a problem to deter from the content. The practice exams and questions were also incredibly helpful.All good things aside, the reason why I'm giving this study guide a 4 out of 5 (honestly leaning closer to 3.5 out of 5) is due to the lack of emphasis on learning the ITTOs. The CAPM exam questions are *heavily* centered around learning the principles behind the ITTOs, if not straight up memorizing them all to begin with. The exam guide approaches things well conceptually, but in my opinion, there wasn't enough clear direction that ITTOs would be such a focal point of the exam - I would have reallocated the amount of time I spent studying certain concepts, formulas, and diagrams had I known this sooner. The heavy focus on ITTOs is echoed on other websites (lots of similar views on Reddit), and had I not found this out, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have passed.Regardless, I would recommend using this study guide supplemented with focused ITTO memorization. I'd highly suggest not spending too much time in the guide beyond reading and standard note taking, and then shifting to ITTO study materials that are available (and free) through a quick google search.

After spending several months trying to get through the PMBOK guide, taking a 4 day (too high level) prep course and watching hours of videos, I finally landed on Belinda Goodrich's CAPM EXAM Prep Study Guide. It is so well laid out, and in easy to read, understandable format that provides vocabulary test, exercises for each chapter, and a final 150 question test at the end. I passed the CAPM the first time and was above target in 9 out of 13 domains! Thanks to Belinda for providing this helpful study guide. 5 stars!

This book was a big help to me. I passed CAPM exam in one go. I was not that confident at all after reading through the PMBOK guide. It was a lot of information to consume all at once! This book sets out with a meaningful structure, with plenty of practice questions which really helped me to tackle areas that I was weak on. It was fun studying with mnemonics provided in the book. I strongly recommend this book & good luck!

This book is amazing! I started reading through the PMBOK Guide and stopped after the 4th chapter as I felt I hadn’t retained any of the information, then I signed up for an online course which didn’t help either. This book was my only source for the exam and I passed it the first time with way above the target grade. The tests and mock exam helped a lot. Highly recommend.

I have tried preparing for the exam with the official PMP Book Guide, but was really dry, I couldn't make myself read it. This book helped me prepare! There are review questions at the end of every chapter and normal tests. I really liked the hints and other practice guides in this book.

Outdated material, exercises with wrong answers (see screenshots) and the exercise site is not working. Waste of money. Unfortunately it took me a while to use the book and I missed the deadline to get my money back.

Buyer beware this Book does NOT cover all PMI subjects for the CAPM examThis is actually missing some important chapters that are critical to the CAPM examWish I could return this useless book
