Antidote For A Stalker: Our newest guide designed to generate a better understanding of the ever evolving menace of stalking (Pa
I work in Law Enforcement and originally met Detective Proctor when I bought his first book "How To Stop A Stalker." I was being stalked by someone I had helped in my job. Det. Proctor, along with his first book helped me understand what I was dealing with and how to get help with the problem. I considered this book to be my resource for what I was dealing with regarding stalking.Since his first book I have received training from Det. Proctor and could not wait to read his second book. The second book has become a greater resource even than the first book. In Antidote, he goes into great detail about the types of stalkers. However, reading about the individual cases can be frightening if you are a stalking victim. The stories hit very close to home. However, I believe the way that the stories are written give law enforcement and others, a better understanding of the fear that stalking provokes and an insight into how complex these cases can be. Not only that but an educated victim is much more empowered than an uneducated victim. You need to know what you are dealing with. This book is an easy and understandable read for the lay person but is also a valuable tool for law enforcement. Det. Proctor makes all of his tools of the trade available to any law enforcement agency that is interested and to this day, remains a strong and active advocate for victims.Antidote is a great book on stalking but there is also a wealth of information for anyone that wants to lead a safer life. There is information for adults to utilize as well as wonderful information for parents to keep their children safe.Initially I was going to loan my copy out but the book itself is to valuable of a tool for my everyday work in law enforcement.I would strongly recommend this book for victims, advocates, police officers, judges, probation and parole officers, family members of victims and anyone else that wants to read a book on staying safe. I would also suggest reading it with a highlighter near by. You are going to find numerous resources and passages that you are going to want to go back to time and time again.

Hearty Recommendation
As a current detective and a national instructor for an anti-stalking organization, I fully recommend Mike's latest book, "Antidote For a Stalker." This is a great book whether you're a stalking victim, a police officer, prosecutor, advocate, or judge. Mike provides up to date information on not only national stalking laws and issues but international as well. He also provides some of the latest information regarding the use of technology to stalk. If you or somebody you love is a victim of stalking this is a must-have book: you will get more information on how to protect yourself and document your stalking case in this book than in any other single resource out there. If you're in law enforcement, you will learn how to properly investigate and document cases so you can can get convictions, hold offenders accountable, increase victim safety, and get convictions. Stalking investigations are not necessarily harder than other types of investigations but they certainly are time-consuming and detail driven. This book will help you look beyond the immediate crime to connect the dots and see the course of conduct that is stalking. Det. Sgt. Randy McAlister

Waiting for delivery
I read Mike Proctors last book ' How to stop a stalker' and is was excellent. I have ordered Mikes new book and cannot wait until it arrives. His knowledge of this subject is second to none. He can apply real experience to the policing of this difficult and challenging crime. I have already given it 5 stars because knowing the author and the extent of his knowledge, his manner of writing, I have no doubt in my mind it will be excellent, but I will follow up with a review once I have finished my read.

Essential Training Guide for Professionals Somewhat Daunting for Victims
This book is ideal as a classroom training text. Proctor covers current laws around the world, styles of stalking, how to protect yourself, and what victims can do. I would buy this in a heartbeat for training or class-related work. This is one of the few books I've seen that address the special needs of therapist who are being stalked by clients, and a must read for mental health workers. If you are a victim of stalking, you will have to pick through the book by chapters to get answers that are pertinent to your situation. I would love to see a condensed version of this book that is a boiled down to the essential information stalking victims need to know NOW to stay safe.

Fantastic, thorough treatment of the subject
I was in immediate need of a resource to help me with a stalking situation that is affecting my daughter and me. This was recommended. It is very thorough and doesn't just focus on typical romantic stalking situations. In addition to these stalking cases, it discusses harassing stalking, vengeful stalking, triangle stalking (moving you out of the way to get to someone - usually romantic), and more. You will find your situation in these pages, and more important, you will know what to do wen you find it. Thank you, Ret. Det. Proctor!

A fascinating read about identifying and protecting yourself from stalking!
For those looking to understand the mind or profile of a stalker, this is the book for you! Det Proctor spells out pretyt much every aspect of how to identify when you are being stalked, how to protect yourself, and the mind and make-up of the different types of stalkers (no- they are not all the same). Such an interesting read! If you like crime dramas, take a look at this. You'll get an insiders understanding of the motivation of a stalker.

antidote for a stalker
Although there is no magic cure for a stalker, Duck does a great job breaking down the types and categories of stalkers. He also gives great tips and advice on steps to take to help youself and help your case against these predators. I look forward to finishing this book, I thought the first was helpful, this seems to have more to offer. Sincerely, a victim.

Know anyone who is being stalked? Then read this.
If you are being stalked or know someone who is being stalked, then former police detective Mike Proctor’s book “Antidote for a stalker” may be wonderful to have or to give to people around you. When you for example read the paragraphs about trophy collection, gaslighting and disruption of services etc., you may feel immense gratitude and relief if that's been happening to you too. After all, many people likely have told you that you’re nuts or simply silently doubted you when you tried to tell them what’s going on in your life. The book is written from a law enforcement perspective, but contains a lot of advice for law enforcement professionals as well as for stalking targets. Some of the information in it is now out of date, for example the bits about the National Stalking Training Academy in the UK. (It no longer exists.)

Very informative, Lots of situations explored. A good explanation of offender types and a great deal of 'best practice' advice for professionals.
