The plugs are made of a very plasticky rubber or a very rubbery plastic; they're rather stiff if they're rubber, or they're rather soft if they're plastic. Its fairly thin material that doesn't like being stretched/deformed too much and will deform if you do that. You need to push it in a good distance before it hooks onto the 'inner' part of the hole. It hooks in pretty solidly which is nice but if you want to remove it, at least if you're prying it out it might get some nasty creases. It seems like it would work fine if the surface around the hole is level and smooth but I haven't been able to try its sealing abilities due to the diameter of the 'cap' being too big. It's around 34-35mm. Otherwise, it fit fine and hooked into a 25mm hole.

The motor head housing on Harmar scooter & wheel chair hoists has an opening in the top to manually work it if the motor won't work for any reason. I made the mistake of losing the plug that keeps water out. This plug is not shown in the Harmar parts chart. I Emailed Harmar to get one but they never answered. This plug is a PERFECT replacement for the original one and nowI have some extras.

These plugs are true to size and fit a one inch hole in 14ga steel well. They say rubber plugs but are more like a plastic plug. The plastic is soft enough to get it into the hole with a little help from a small flat blade screwdriver.

The plugs are a little thin in my opinion, and I would like a little more overlap of the hole. I hobby with old cars and sometimes the holes were cut with ragged edges and more overlap would help. These worked for my purpose this time.

These plugs probably will work good on thinner sheet metal. I used them on box tubing with a wall thickness of about .090. They worked but had to wrk them pretty good to stay in place. Once in place they seem to stay.

Pulled out all 20 factory plugs so I could spray Fluid Film up into the Rocker panels. These fit perfectly as a replacement for the factory plugs. Gave 4 stars because there not rubber, seem more like plastic, but serve there purpose.

These plugs have just the right amount of flexibility, not like the harder (unforgiving) plastic plugs.

Used this to plug a sand and water table that I couldn’t get replacement plugs for, works great!
