It fits straight over the original housing.
Good addition to the car, it's not the snug fit, but make sure you have the adhesive tape in the right place and it's fine.

Looks ok until you go to fit it as it dosnt for a mini r57 convertible dial as theres another dial right next to it needs a bit cutting out SO DOESN'T FIT AS ADVERTISED.
