Great Introduction to Yoko for Young People
I bought this book in the hopes of sharing Yoko with my students. I found the overview of Yoko's life to be very informative and especially enjoyed the emphasis on her years before and after John Lennon, if only because so much of what people understand about her is rooted in her years with John. It serves as a great introduction to Yoko, as I had hoped. Her influence on contemporary art and pop culture is undeniable and the overview of this is written in simple, easy-to-follow text. The images are delicious and offer a comprehensive account of her accomplishments without being heavy-handed.

A Work of Art
YOKO ONO: COLLECTOR OF SKIES is magnificent! Nell Beram and Carolyn Boriss-Krimsky created more than a fascinating book, it's a work of art. This book is one of the most beautiful in my Yoko Ono collection. I'm convinced the hardcover first edition will become very valuable, in more ways than one, and a favorite. We're all major Yoko Ono fans here in France. We experienced (and it was a most memorable, awesome experience) her 70th birthday happening in Paris. Yoko Ono is amazing and COLLECTOR OF SKIES makes clear that her genius is not only innovative but will continue to inspire artists of all kinds for generations to come.

The Yoko Ono
This is a biography that is divided into a series of years of Yoko Ono's life: 1933-1953, 1953-1962,1962-1966, 1966-1968, 1968-1970, 1970-1973, 1980-1994 and 1994 to the present (2013).There are many photos of Yoko, including ones of her as a child, her art works and her family, including, of course, the ones many have seen of her and John Lennon. This book gives a background and a clue into the life of Yoko. It tells of her hardships and rejections, her experiences in Japan during and after WWII. Much of her life is told and her feelings explained, including explaining her art works. Her first marriage to Toshi, her second with Tony Cox and their daughter Kyoko are described. Then her meetings with Lennon and her thoughts on giving her opinions to the Beatle's music are detailed. The bed-in and their reasons for that, her custody battle for Kyoko are explained. Sean's birth and their life together afterwards and Lennon's death are expounded upon. Her life after and that of Sean and even Kyoko are touched upon. All is told in a simple and clear fashion with many of her quotes. For those who only know of Yoko Ono during her time with John Lennon, this will give a background to her life. This is a book for fans of Yoko Ono and even John Lennon and for those who simply want to learn more about the life of Yoko Ono.

Inspiring biography
A very well written biography, rich in details and straight to the point at the same time. The authors seems to be "insiders", but definetly they're just conscious of how hard it must have been to be Yoko. At the end of this book you know much more than just gossips about this iconic figure, you feel touched and inspired by the way Yoko transforms pain and joy into art.
