It’s a decent game
Reading game reviews on Amazon? If you’re an aunt who is looking for a game for your nephew who is “so into those board games but doesn’t like monopoly!” this is a decent option, but not the best.Id probably give it a 3.5 on the fun scale. It’s fun but I don’t see myself playing it all the time, but it’s certainly not bad.

Sci-fi geeky fun at its best
I'm looking at this game on my game shelf as I write this review, that box art, and all the art included inside is phenomenal. I keep this game as one of my display games on top of my shelf so that it’s facing out and visible to catch the eyes of anyone visiting during game night. This game certainly catches the eyes of many in our different gaming groups and I've had fun teaching this easy and fun game to anyone who's interested. This game is for 1-5 players but I have only had the chance to do player counts of 2 and 5, and so far I found them both very satisfying. 5 players are of course slower than a 2 player game and I think I miss some of the speed that happens in a 2 player game sometimes. 5 players however changes how you play more though and this makes these altering player counts for me fresh and different. At 2p I might focus solely on speed and the occasional move that may foil the plans of my opponent. With 5 players though I have to think out what each other person might do and as others also seek to disrupt the plans of other players we are all usually forced to make each turn on the fly, it is harder to have a long term plan at this point. Again though, with that just changing "how" we play as opponents to one another the great game beneath all that is still there. So this is a great game for anyone in your life who might be a bit of a Sci-Fi or even slight horror genre fan. Multiuniversum is set in a world where portals to all kinds of crazy insane worlds are opened up in a scientific research center. Our goal is not to fight the baddies from these other worlds though, we as the brave scientists have to complete sequences of tools at the transformers which are opening these portals in order to shut them all down and save the world. It's a really neat twist, at first glance I kind of thought we might be fighting things but I love the scientific approach. For any of the nerds out there this feels like the TV show Sliders, or the movie The Mist and that is such a fitting them for me personally, the art here really captures these otherworldly dimensions and makes it all the more fun for me.And let’s talk about the card art, I would buy framed prints of some of these drawings, they are that great and would be an awesome backdrop to your gaming area. Beyond the portal cards though the art moves to basic colored coded modules for the abilities you can take on your set of 3 possible actions each turn. You'll move, draw cards, recycle a card from the discard pile, seal a portal, use the power of the transformer you're standing on, or lastly play a card as one of the tools you need to close each portal. These same actions are present on every card but their order and coloring is different each time. If you want to close a portal on the blue transformer you'll need an action card with the blue seal symbol, while standing on the blue transformer, and being able to place the tools required for each portal to then close it. It's a fascinating jumble of deciding where to go and what options are available to you. More advance play will let you take more advantage of abilities that move and shuffle portals around and possibly keep them out of reach of your opponents.End game scoring is simple and has some set collection bonuses that are fun to try and achieve. In the lower player counts these are not hard to achieve as you have lots of room to move and search out your best scoring possibilities, at 5 players I can say the collection bonuses were much harder to come by but that makes scoring one all the more exciting. Overall great game that we can play fast, I think it does remarkable at 2p and 5p both, and am very interested in seeing if somewhere in the middle there isn't a perfect mix of all the parts I enjoy. I like when small games have a lot of options and variables to winning like this one does, I think a lot of gamers can get a lot of good fun out of this one.
