Human Resources Kit for Dummies 3rd ed. Edition

This is a good book to use as a refresher. It covers the essential information as well as the basic. I like to read books to remain current even though I have been doing the job for 20 plus years. The moment you think you know it all is the perfect time to get out because you have just become a liability to the organization. As a PhD I see so many so called experts that mess up other peoples lives so I do my best to stay aware of mistakes and changes so I don't repeat history.

Readable. Straight to the point. Very resourceful tool for any HR or similar professional

Bought this for my wife to read up on her new promotion at work. Good reading material although a bit outdated.

I purchased this book because I was thrust into a position that required I interview applicants for a position. I needed some guidance on techniques, pitfalls, and advice in general, and I needed it ASAP! This book and the CD were truly beneficial. I found useful information and documents that helped me organize and prepare for the interviews. I will not claim to be an HR guru after reading this book, but I was definitely better prepared and the interviews were smooth and successful. I would recommend this book to anyone new to the many facets of HR responsibility. It gives very good basic information and gets your feet wet so you can wade further into the pool of HR information with confidence.

The book arrived damaged. My OCD kicked in a little but I decided it wasn't too badly damaged & moved on. The part that does upset me is, the CD that arrived in the book does not work. Tried it on 2 different computers. Very disappointed.

This is a great kit. The CD had been helpful in getting me started and also improving our hiring systems. I strongly recommend this to anyone that needs a cheat sheet nearby!
