So you need a cheap CO2 regulator for your new planted tank. But you don't want to spend over $100? Up until now you would have to accept a $95 dollar regulator from FZONE that could be used on either a 5# CGA320 tapped tank or with it's adapter for a 20 oz. paintball. This little regulator comes set up to run on 28 gram CO2 disposable cartridges. but wait, with a 3/8ths to CGA320 adapter ( $9.) it can also be used directly from a 5 pound tank. What you'll need to finish this setup will be a Jaladri bubble counter/needle valve and possibly a solenoid pressure gas cock. Both for about $24 brings your purchase $65. It's really compact and it will work with either a 5# tank or a 20 oz. paintball tank.I should note that this cheap regulator's inner mechanism is the same one as the FZONE $95 regulator, so you do have the dual stage regulation that prevents an end of tank dump a lot of the sub $40 mini regulators are infamous for. With a fine enough needle valve you can drop this regulator's bubble per second down to the point where leaving it run 24/7 would be feasible, but I'd still go with a timer and a solenoid that make them that splice into the output 4/6mm hose barb

It did not have the proper fitting to screw on. Fortunately, I had an extra fitting. Then it was fine.

Maybe the threads are mis-threaded, or maybe they're a different size, but standard NPT fittings don't (fit).

CO2 is lost when screwing cartridge into inlet. Watch out for frostbite.

Large display makes it easy to set the desired pressure. Feels _very_ durable.

I had my first chance to use this regulator, just outside the return window by 3 days. On first use the regulator pin bent. It leaked all co2 from the mini canister in less than a minute. The regulator did not work at all... Whatever didn't leak around the threading got dumped into the beer. If you buy this... Be sure to try it out before the return window expires.
