Closest to Holy Grail that I've seen!
I've read more books on health and vitamins than I care to remember. some were great, some not so great. The total package of the information in this book has me wondering why 100's of millions of people haven't caught on to it yet. It is that good.If you want a book about how to optimize the length of your life and the quality of your health, this is it.If you want a book to really know how to lose weight this is it. If you want a book about how to exercise the right way, this is it.Most people don't really know why they can't lose weight and keep it off - now they will. And they'll be able to change that outcome. Most people don't have a clue how important excercise is, this book lets you know. Most people don't know they can easily overdo their exercise. Dr. Shallenberger's testing should nail it. The areas of quality & quantity of food, sleep, exercise, relaxation, supplements and more are not only covered, but covered with great info.If you don't like to read a lot about health, vitmins, execise, etc. and you wish to read just one book, you would be hard pressed to find a better one. Like I said, I've read hundreds, this one has some of the best info you will ever get.Happy reading and good health to you. Explains the body processes really well
Explains the body processes really well. This was the first book that I have ever read that actually explained the processes of the body and how it works. I’m not really into the energy testing. I don’t think it’s available in the area that I live in. And also I won’t be buying any of the supplements recommended. But I found it really fascinating to read about how the body works and what it needs to function optimally. I have recommended this book to friends and even bought a friend who is a cancer survivor a copy.Amazingly simple to read and understand.

This is the best, common sense
This is the best, common sense, approach to diet, exercise and energy production I have ever read. It is written by an MD but from the perspective of health promotion rather than diagnosis of disease and treatment of symptoms. He explains the body's biochemical processes in simple enough terms for you to understand. This is real science, not just someone's opinion. He has seen the evidence in working with people for over 25 years. Any one who is living with fatigue, weight problems, immune system issues, or hormonal imbalance should certainly read this book.

Back to basics. Fundamentals is always the answer!
What a great read. Health and wellness is your responsibility. The simple truth is that most illness and disease is preventable. Its all explained here in a very straight forward yet detailed way.There is a big difference between getting older and aging. To avoid aging as we get older, back to basics is a great place to start: Drink plenty of clean water, not bottled or tap. Get plenty of sleep AND good rest, not pill induced sleep and manic vacations. Eat whole organic food not processed junk food. Exercise, do both resistance and cardio. Meditate. Take a few quality supplements. Get regular sunshine. Breathe clean air and get plenty of oxygen. Have some fun. These are the kinds of things that are so obvious yet we've become completely separated from how simple and powerful these simple things are a prescription for long lasting health and a vital life.What's great about Bursting With Energy is that the 'WHY' is explained in detail so you have a genuine appreciation of just how powerful these lifestyle choices really are. And as both an MD and a Naturopath, Frank informs with a very broad yet even-handed approach.I see my clients everyday in my Full Spectrum Coaching practice become transformed by the simple application of these principles. They drop weight, look younger and healthier, feel better, have more energy, are able to focus and concentrate like never before, have an awesome sex life, greater confidence, are more successful, and lead happier lives in general. What's really interesting is how much scientific data has come out in the last 15 years to support what are truly the secrets to happiness. In fact, I recommend they read this book as one of the support texts for the work we do together.Honestly, this is as good or better than any comparable best seller on the market in terms of content and delivery. GREAT BOOK!
This is a great and informative book. Basically it advocates eschewing carbs and high-sugar foods for those containing protein and fats. The logic is sound, and I've been on Dr Shallenberger's diet for a couple of months. What I've given up in the form of breads and fruits has been more than made up for by being able to eat eggs and (the occasional) red meats again. I couldn't recommend it more highly. It's good for Type II diabetes management. My fasting blood sugar hovers around 90. It's science simply explained.

I like Dr. Shallenbergers products, and have had this book a long time, but never seem to get around to reading it.

Get This Book!
Frank Shallenberger is a man ahead of his time. This book embodies information that looks at the base cause of disease, and how disease and inappropriate aging are being foisted upon our population by a system that values efficiency, profit, and personal convenience over health and well being. If you are happy growing old and having multiple life style diseases that impoverish your quality of life, then this book is not for you. If you want a book that helps you fight back, is cogent, well presented, geared toward increasing your quality of life, and readable by the lay public, then this book is a must read. One other thing, I am retired after thirty years in the medical field, and my studies have lead me to conclude that mitochondrial dysfunction is a MAJOR player in aging and disease...and this is the gist of Dr. Shallenberger's approach as well.

Dr, Schallenberger is a true pioneer - Highly recommend this book
What can i say -- an excellent book! Read it --he is a true pioneer, The book outlines his approach to measuring Mitrochondria function -- and establishing a true measure of your health . Answering very fundamental quesitons (how healthy are you ?), He then gets into other fundamentals -- diet - hormones, and what establishes your overall energy levels (which we often see detiorating with age),Few MDs are nutritionally aware -- Dr. Schallenberger was Holistic long before it became fashionable.This book is an eye- opener - given the clarity of the Doctors thinking. For me this book opened the door to "alternative medicine" and I see a Naturapath who was trained by Dr. Schallenberger.Given the restrictions placed on MD (licensing, standard of care etc.) He does harken back to an age when MD's had a broader scope of practice.He has been training Naturapaths for decades -- so you are best of finding a Naturapath that he trained,

Life changing
I'm not a medical person but someone who is conscious getting older is not something we should just accept in terms of decreasing quality of life. Grow old and live well is important. This book along with Dr Mike Strouds "survival of the fittest" are two life changing books not just for people getting older but anyone wanting to ensure good health. Dr Schallenbergers take on the pharmaceutical companies is a breath of fresh air without been unrealistic.
