I like them too much..

I originally got these bowls for my mother as they were large to eat porridge from and unlike our china bowls, these are made from melamine, which is plastic and not very fragile and easy to break. The only downside is that these bowls cannot be used in the microwave but can be hand washed or cleaned vis dishwasher. There was problems with this order, firstly the item was delivered later then expected by over 1 week and when it did eventually arrived, there was a mark or stain on the side of the bowls. At first we thought it was a stain but when we rinsed it, the mark still was still there. This must of been a manufacturing defect so we informed the seller and after sending photos of the item to them via email, they refunded the amount back into my account. They never requested it back so we disposed it as suggested. What a shame and I am very disappointed that this product was faulty but at least we got our money back for it.

It was somewhat laughable to open this parcel, read the "practically unbreakable" label on the packaging, and see that one of the bowls was already shattered in half. I didn't bother returning or looking for a refund because they were cheap and not worth the effort, and you can tell that these bowls are cheap. Still, they do their job. They are not microwavable, nor oven-safe, but that was expected. They aren't durable but they are good enough for the price. If you're looking for some convenient bowls which you don't mind breaking, they will do the trick.

Another addition to my non pottery kitchen/dining equipment. These are smaller than the other type I bought but are a good size for your breakfast cereal or pudding! They wash easily enough and they seem to do the job expected of them. These type of products are not unbreakable, but i think they have a better chance of surviving a trip to the floor than a pottery version. I ordered these bowls because I have a very clumsy hubby who is always breaking my dishes. They are so pretty in very bright colors, certainly won’t miss them, and seem to be very sturdy and strong. Can be used for a number of things, I.e. cereal, puddings etc. but hopefully they will last longer than the usual ones.

To be fair they look good. We made the mistake of not realising they were suitable to go in the microwave, which we’ve since checked is not mentioned in the product description (at least at time of writing this review). The bowl was hotter than the contents, and the contents eventually just caked onto the sides and was difficult to clean off. A real shame, I love having plastic bowls which are easy to use for multiple things, usually we have pound shop ones but thought we’d treat ourselves to an upgrade, how wrong we were....
