buy this if you have the original X
this thing gets mixed reviews. but it is what it is. which is great. the included instructions are vague.but here is what it is: it's a passive battery case. it does three things: put the case on...1 placed on a wireless charger it charges the phone first then the case2 plug in the case it charges the phone first then the charger3 plug in the phone to charge it does nothinghere's where it gets interesting1 it doesn't charge the phone unless you tell it to by holding down the button on the back for three seconds then it will charge the phone until it can't. about 25% in my experience.2 you can use this as a back up emergency pack and never use it unless you have to. if you put it on a wireless charger it passes the charge to the phone first then the pack. but you HAVE to push the button on the back for three seconds for it to charge your phone.this works differently than you'd expect. but the built quality is great.i did get an error on my charging pad and hot charge once so since then i just plug in the case with a usb-C and it acts like a wireless charging pad to charge my phone and then charges itself once the phone id 100%.all in all, it's a pretty amazing thing for $11-13. bad reviews are from people who can't figure it out.

Great case, lasts a LONG time.
This is the third Mophie wireless case I've bought, and the second for my iPhone Xs. The first lasted three years before the battery started fading fast. Never any issues with the case, and never any issues with my PHONE while in the case - I'm not the clumsiest around, but there were a handful of drops that I thought would be the end of the phone.

Great in theory -- Poor in charging
Purchased this for my XS as the battery life has been dwindling for the past year or so. Great price for a nice hard case -- the case itself felt nice and smooth with not too much heft to it.However, as someone who is always on their phone for both work and leisure (emails, web surfing, streaming) I soon found that the case's battery did not even charge my phone while it was in use.Rather, the phone got extremely hot from the charging while in use... and my battery didn't move up *or* down in the slightest. The phone would give the charging 'ping' and show it was charging, but the battery just wasn't giving enough charging power to get over the hump.Even while locked and stationary charging, the phone would only charge minimally--at most I think I only ever saw a 10-15% charge on a full phone case charge. This essentially rendered the case useless in my eyes (why carry around the added bulk and weight of a battery pack if it couldn't even adequately charge my phone?)First battery case -- and although disappointed, the price really was worth a shot -- and I will likely try another battery case in the future, though likely a different size battery with more charging power.

It was cheap.
It was cheap. It cost about $9.50. However on an iPhone X running iOS 14+ the wireless battery pack only adds about 50% extra battery life to phone. Fit is not so great. The fit of this battery pack is less desirable. It does fit the phone nicely when sliding the phone into the bottom half and then sliding the top half onto the phone. However the problem I had is where the two halves meet is not right (see pictures.) The bottom half is a little wider and flared out causing a ridge when sliding you hand across it. This misshapen of what could only be the internal design of the battery pack to fit the phone might not be 100% accurate which is causing the to halves to be off. Even with the phone out of the picture and connecting the two halves together without a phone they still don’t line up correctly. It may not seem like a big deal but it should be better. The only upsides to the battery pack fitment is the ease of removal and installation and the fact the original lightning port is not blocked.During wireless charging the pack and phone together works okay. The pack and phone get hot and it takes a while to wirelessly charge both together. Using the usb-a to usb-c cable to charge the battery pack also charges the phone. I use this method overnight. The upside to charging is you can choose to use wireless charging, usb-c or Apple lightning to charge. A little more flexibility. When using the battery pack to charge the phone the phone gets hot and the iOS slows down and starts to lag. It’s best to start the charging and let it be to charge. It’ll add an extra 50% charge to phone and takes about 75 minutes. Not terrible but not great. The battery pack weighs about 100g and added to the iPhone X that brings your phone to about 275g or just shy of 10 ounces. It does feel a lot heavier and bigger with the battery pack on.

Perfect buy
I’ve used these before and will buy again. Saves on charging and try to find some where to plug your phone in

Good only for 30-40% charge. Warm up because of inefficient wireless charging
The case look nice and sturdy, fits very good but however it fails to do it's job! CHARGING. It has 2000mAh capacity which should enough to charge at least 80% battery from full drain of an iPhone X but because of that inefficient wireless charging I only got 30-40% extra juice and most of energy got wasted as heat. Yes, it feels warm when charging and or getting charged. Warm enough that I can't feel comfortable put in my jeans pocket in this California summer. It's been a week of use and I don't think it's worth to add more weight just for 30% extra battery life. Returning next week when I return home.
