I bought an SSD upgrade for my iMac a year ago but have been putting it off all because of the screen that is "glued" in with adhesive strips. Afraid I might break the glass screen....and I almost did because when I finally was prying the screen off I was doing it with the monitor upright on it's stand....the glass screen slipped out of my hands at separation and crashed down onto a section of the metal stand.......thankfully it did not break or chip. Anyway, this is a great kit. The "roller knife" thing works really well and just most of the adhesive strip away for you....Some people use suction cups to help pry off the screen, I just used some extra plastic pry's to help hold parts of the screen away from the remaining glue and gently, very gently pried away sections of the screen. The hardest part for me was separating the bottom adhesive from the glass, that's when the screen slipped out of my hands. The old glue is pretty easy to pull up.....then I just put all the new adhesive strips around the monitor and gently placed the screen back in place. After it's done it looks like it was never touched. So Awesome kit!.....and my iMac is blazing fast now that I replaced that hybrid drive with a full SSD.

We correctly installed the screen in an Imac 2019 and left it unused for two days for the glue to work. On the night of the third day, the screen fell and broke. The weight of the screen ripped the connectors and flat cable. The current damage assessment is $400. The connectors on the board appear to be bent. If the board needs to be replaced, the Imac will be scrapped, causing total damage of $900.

The pizza cutter tool supplied really helps to get the screen off the chassis. Just go slow and be especially careful along the top where the camera is located and the right side where the antennas are at. There is no guessing where the tape goes. They are formed to match the contours of the iMac. Just remember to stick the bottom set of tapes to the screen and not the chassis, it makes installation a lot easier. There are no instructions with the kit so watch some YouTube videos before you start.

This is the second kit I have purchased, it woks and fits as advertised and not saying it is no good. HOWEVER, a couple weeks earlier I bought an Ifixit kit for this same iMac model and it seemed better quality. When I was mounting these strips to the frame, a couple of them broke in half as I was removing the adhesive cover. Had to carefully position the halves together on the frame. In a pinch, I would buy again, but recommend spending a touch more for better quality. SO FAR it is holding on the screen. If it fails I will update this review

These are great for replacing the screen on an iMac. They come packaged well and include the plastic opener to get the screen off. They do a great job of holding the screen on. They are labeled to let you know where each one goes. They include the pin holes to get the strips on evenly and in the right place. Very similar to the adhesive strips that apple uses.

The adhesive did not stick. Fell off after a week and my broke my back light in the process. Had to buy an entire new set up.

Before buying this product - I watched dozens and dozens of how to remove the screen on youtube.This product came up, and the roller worked flawlessly. It was SO fast, easy to use, and safe! I had nightmares of breaking my girlfriend's monitor and having to replace it. The depth of the insertion of the tool is perfect, you don't have to worry about the tool going in too far and damaging anything - though I still recommend, be careful around the webcam.The hardest part of the whole remove and reinstall of the monitor, would be the removal of the adhesive from the bottom of the screen.Get some rubbing alcohol to help clean up the surfaces before installing the new adhesive.I was slightly worried about aligning the adhesive, but the adhesive has little holes in it that line up with holes on the computer to help align everything. Making install a dream.I will definitely buy this again and I would recommend it to anyone doing upgrades or maintenance.Also, before opening your computer up. Get a can of compressed air and blow out the bottom of the computer to free up some air flow, you're in there anyways - might as well get it done.

It worked perfectly! Never had any issues.

Installed strips as per instructions and 4 hours later the screen fell off on its own. No faith in these and have tape holding the screen until I new strips arrive (not.from the same manufacturer). Dont buy the cheapest ones offered, displays are expensive.

The screen fell after 5 months and cracked, needs to be replaced. 1000$ damage done by a 12$ adhesive tape. Installation was done by a professional. The opening tool is good though.
