Great Lakes Gelatin ArmWorks Collagen - Protein for Dogs & Cats (10 LB)

This seems to be working for our dog. She doesn't limp as badly as she used to. The only problem is the messiness of it. I was sprinkling it on top of her food and adding some warm water to it. Mixes great, but if my dog didn't eat it right away, it would gel and I would have to dig it out as it stuck to the bowl. Experimented a little and made "jello jigglers" out of it! Problem solved! The "cubes" could set on top all day and still be fine. And she likes them! It's a little more work, but she's worth it! Recipe is 3 TBS gelatin with 1/2 cup warm water. Mix well and pour into ice cube tray. This makes about 6 cubes which is what our dog gets per day. Perfect for when the dog sitter comes. I just store a bag of them in the fridge to make their job easier!

I normally do not write reviews, but I would like to thank Bill for the fast shipment of the Gelatin Protein and I also would like to let others now that this product really works. I was a little unsure if I should buy this product reading through other reviews but I am happy I did. My dog is only 6.5 years old but already developed a bad arthritis in his front leg and hip. He did not great me at the door anymore because getting up was painful and would only stay in one place so he would not have to move. After using this product for 2 month I see great improvements in his movability and happiness.He gets 2 tablespoons with every meal and lots of water. We never had any problem that the gelatin would stick to his mouth. He loves this product so much that he is trying to get every bit out of the bowl even if it sticks to the bowl.

I did not purchase this product from Amazon but I do give it everyday to my three Rottweilers for good health. I have recommended it to several individuals whose dogs suffer from lameness due to hip elbow or knees issues. Every person has told me how it has changed their dogs life. I can only say you have to try it to believe it. There is no side affect and it cannot hurt anything. I will always give to my dogs from puppyhood as I know it has helped keep them sound in body. My dogs love "coursing" an all out 600 yard run and they do it without any soreness the next day. In fact they do it 5 days in a row without any issues. This is awesome stuff!

I did not purchase this product from Amazon. I have 3 cats. Two of the cats(Boog & Mooka Moo) are about 7 years old. The third cat (Baby) is about 14 years old. I noticed changes in all 3 cats upon trying this product out. I sprinkled in about 1/4 cup of the powder into their cat food and they just eat at their leisure throughout the day. It is hard to feed all 3 cats once per morning and night like the bag recommends. The younger two cats benefitted even though they are pretty much in their physical primes with no health issues. I noticed in the two younger cats that the appearance and feel of their coats improved significantly. Their coats were shinier and much softer to touch. I understand the animal's coat is a sign of its general overall health. A coat in bad shape can mean that the animal has a poor diet and isn't getting the nutrition it needs. The cats eat Blue Buffalo dry food and I noticed they actually like to eat even more when this gelatin powder is mixed into it. They like the food but like it even more with this powder stirred in so it must taste good to them.The older cat Baby is primarily the one who I figured would benefit from this product. She is 14 years old which is about equivalent to 80 Human years. Her coat is smooth and looks good. She is old for a cat but she can still overpower the other two cats. She also can run and jump up high and jump down from high places with no problems. She used to just hide under the bed all day. Now she comes out of the room and sits in the window or runs around a bit and walks back and forth. I'm not sure if this product has any part in her coming out from under the bed but her activity level has increased in addition to the other changes mentioned.Ultimately it is difficult to tell things about an animal because they can not speak for themselves. I observed these positive changes in the 3 cats over about a 6 month period of regular use. I personally use the Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate for human use. I take 2 tablespoons per day. I have found that my joints feel a lot better and I don't have as much pain and stiffness after exercising. I feel like the collagen supplement for humans that I take has very similar ingredients for the animal supplement so I figure that the animals must feel some of the same benefits that I feel.I bought the 10 lb bag. It costs a lot up front but it does last a long time. If your animal is in pain or old at least give it a try if you can afford it because it may make a really big difference in your pet's life.
