good way to practice making change
Achieves its intended purpose, which is to give my son lots of practice in making change and handling money. He absolutely loves it and is now good enough that he has started having his stuffed animals play against each other, with himself as cashier. This works well since it is almost entirely a game of chance except for setting prices. Prices are determined by rolling the three dice and then arranging them into a dollars-and-cents amount. Additional equipment needed to play the game is pencil/pen and paper (for recording the prices when working with two or more items) plus one AA battery for the included calculator. We do not use the calculator; this way, my son gets some extra math practice as he adds up the prices. In a pinch you could play without pencil/paper or calculator by paying for each item separately instead of combining (this would be very tedious!). The money is realistic looking and delights my son; since the number of bills are limited he also gets to practice having the bank exchange a 20 for two 10s and so forth. The game box serves as a cardboard till and is designed well for this purpose. It is essential to have at least one player (or onlooker) who already knows how to make change so that they can teach the other players - the game only provides practice in making change, not instruction. As a result, for an adult the gameplay is somewhat tedious. This is not a game that is equally fun for kid and adult. It inspired my son to get good at making change, though, so I recommend it.

Fun and educational, LOVE IT!!
My family first checked this game out of the local library. After playing it, my kids did not want to return it. The money looks real and there is a bunch of it. Game is easy to setup. It has helped my children learn what the different coins and bills look like and how to count them. I highly recommend this game to all ages of children. I have played with 5 to 14 year old and they all love it.

Great for Down Syndrome to learn
Bought this for my niece who is 14 with Down Syndrome. She is higher functioning and needs to learn how to count money in everyday life (for herself) and hopefully to get a job.

Good game, 3 levels of playing!
This is a fun, educational, and overall good game for kids! There are different ways to play it depending in how much skill the players have. You can play with just coins, or just bills, or both. The calculator that came with the game is faulty. It seems as though it appears to "work" when in direct sunlight, but the numbers as you type them don't really come up. I ended up buying a new calculator for the game. The plastic coins for seem accurate in size, just a little darker for real money. The paper money is accurate for size and very much resembles real bills. The rest of the game pieces and board game were quality materials. I enjoyed this game and so did my kids!

This is a great game for teaching how to make the correct change
This is a great game for teaching how to make the correct change. It also helped my kids understand subtraction and addition principles. I had them count out change the way that it used to be done when checkouts didn't compute how much you were to get back. I was surprised that teachers were not teaching how to check subtraction problems by adding the answer with the amount subtracted to reach the original amount. So I taught them how to do that so they could understand counting back. They were so delighted...and I got the "now it get it" response. The game is a lot of fun. We talk about the relative price of things when you purchase an item. So it helps to teach relative value.

Just an ok game.
Pros:The concept of coupons, allowance, losing and finding money.Cons:The game play is a little odd with the rolling multiple dice and choosing the price of things.I was hoping for a little more real world application. Does not have realistic pricing of items to teach value and difference. I just ended up making my own items with real world prices.

Terrific game
We got my five year old son this game for Christmas, and it's great. We all enjoy it. There are three levels of difficulty, which I love--we'll be playing this for years to come. The first level uses just the paper money, the second level uses just the coins, and the third level uses both. We're on the first level, and my son is learning to make change with dollars up to 20 (though usually $10 is the highest bill we use in level 1). In level 1, only 1 die is used, but the game adds a layer of strategy at levels 2 (two dice) and 3 (3 dice), since players decide what order to put the dice in to make the amounts (i.e. when you have to pay, you make the smallest amount possible, and when you are getting paid, you make the biggest). Great learning game and fun too.

Transaction Learning Fun!
Good game to teach kids about the value of money when purchasing products. Concepts like bargaining, value, leveraging, and transaction exchange are taught. Young players learn while having fun!
