Awesome Darth Vader Outfit!!
When this outfit arrived I was amazed at the quality and attention to detail and I feel is very very much worth the money. I also didn't get some of the problems I had seen other reviews stated, such as the helmet did not seem to have a mould/cast error of being uneven on mine(I'm guessing the manufacturer fixed it in the end) which seems to be there on the picture on the box, but not on the helmet itself when I took it out - and that's what counts! There were only two downsides - firstly the battery compartments are secured with a screw, I'd love to see someone in this costume trying to replace the batteries at a Star Wars convention, it would be near impossible without taking most of the outfit off. I've seen cheap toys with better battery compartments (i.e. a flexible plastic latch, much less fiddly), secondly the adjustment parts of the straps are too loose and require metal "clips" (similar to what you get on some sports bags and hiking gear etc, that have the serrated teeth and clip down firmly on the strap to prevent it moving), a work around for this is to tie off the strap near the adjuster once the correct size is achieved, I did a double knot to make sure, and it held firmly and wasn't uncomfy, don't worry about getting it off, it also has a quick release belt clip like most backpacks have, just a matter of securing the strap adjusters. Also any true fan of Vader's will notice some parts of the hlmet are "off" - I also ordered the official shepperton studios helmet (made exactly as the first movie one) and comparing that and the movie helmets you can see the pointy metal bits either side of his breather are a differant shape to the movie. The eye lenses are also clear plastic as opposed to Vader's tinted lenses, and the grill to the breather doesn't have as many "lines" forming the cross hatch effect. However that said, the one that comes with the outfit is more practical if you wish to go out in it ad it's also padded inside making it more comfy. and most people won't even notice those small alterations. And to complete the look I bought Men's Harry Hall Start Riding Wide Boots in my size (available on Amazon as well), and they fitted very well with the zip up shin guards (don't worry most of the time the zips won't be noticed and the boots are firm enough to make the flexable fabric part of the shin guards look like the calf armor) for best results on boot fitting the shin guards I reccomend standing near a sofa, put both boots on, wrap the lower leg parts round your lower leg/calf if needed to aid a smoother fit, then raise one leg up and put foot on sofa arm rest - from this position you should have easy access to the back of the boot for fitting the shin armor. Those boots are a very snug fit if you get your size right, so may be difficult getting them off, one size up is reccomended if you don't want such a problem, but then you forego the snug fit. Also as they're riding boots they come up to just below the knee, you fit the shin guards over them, don't worry it will fit fine and zip up very well with no restrictions. These boots look awesome with the rest of the outfit, nice black and shiny and makes the outfit look just as in the pictures!!Other than the above issues I meantioned this outfit/costume is perfect, fits well, and loosks the part. I'm a slim guy and about 5 Ft 9, yet this outfit added to my height a bit and filled me out quite a lot, I looked very intimidating wearing it.The helmet may seem a bit big when you first look at it, but don't let that put you off, once you have everything in place it'll look the part.Sitting down tip - if you're sitting on a low seat such as a sofa, remove the cod piece for comfort, and to prevent un-necissary force on the straps. Idealy you'd sit on something similar to an office chair raised up so your legs are relaxed downwards, if sitting with cod piece.Cape tip - the cape is heavy and huge, bare in mind Lord Vader wears his cape with part of it hanging over the shoulder armor to the front most of the time, in this way the weight of the cape will keep the chest armor in place. However if you go out in windy conditions or wish to have more movement I'd reccomend securing the chest armor and/or cape with additonal straps or something that you deem suitable, otherwise you'll find the chest armor will become unbalanced and move around too much.Be prepared for a slight claustrophobic feel when putting on the helmet, it'll pass after some practice, and you'll need to break the suit in - that is get use to wearing it, moving around in it so that it breaks in much like you break in a new pair of shoes.Great outfit, I love it!!Also by pure luck and awesome delivery service most of my Vader stuff all arrived on the same day, except the FX lightsaber and voice changer.

Impressions + video
I bought this costume some time ago and overall I am pleased with it. It has it's pros and cons of course :) For example it gets really warm when wearing it.. except if it's winter :D The armor quality is really good - the helmet is a little bit big, but it helps to make the "scary" impression. People get scared if they dont expect to see Vader :D You can check this video to see the costume in action: [...] In the channel there a few more. Of course you need to invest in the lightsaber and boots separately.

Impressive...when you first get it out of the box.
But sadly it starts to malfunction and is really cheaply made with the wiring for the lights and breathing sound. Breathing sound is unrealistic and is barely audible. Rip off for the price you get charged for and what you actually get, which is basically the main body suit and the armour moulds. Mine worked great on the first day so we got what pictures we could then. We weren't to know how quickly it would pack up. Spend less and build a costume from scratch by googleing "501st costuming organization."

Rubies comes good with Supreme Vader
I really wanted a Darth Vader costume since I was a little boy. I received an invite to attend a fancy dress costume party and dont usually attend these things as I can never think of anything good enough to go as. I recently came into a little bit of money and thought, what the hell! I am going to buy myself a Darth Vader costume. I did some research about the Rubies Supreme Darth Vader costume and thought to myself that even if the general reviews from the hard core Star Wars fans are half true then the suit should be good. My suit came 4 days ago and the smile on my face when I got it out of the box, was like being 7 again and getting Optimus prime for Christmas (in fact the smile is still there). I pulled out all of the costume and dived straight to the helmet (as that is the bit I really wanted to see. The smile soon left my face when I saw how large the helmet was. I held it up and it was almost as wide as my chest. I thought this is going to look stupid once it is on.I carried on pulling the rest of the costume out and started laying it on the floor, the quality of the faux leather bodysuit is fantastic and the gloves make you feel like Darth himself. I decided the only way to test the costume was to put it on. I got myself into the bodysuit and threaded the chest plate through the pre-cut holes. I slipped the tunic on and suddenly started feeling a bit like darth. I slipped mylegs into the shin pads (which are of fantastic quality and have zips on the back with a stretchy fabric to fit even the biggest calf muscles). I bought myself some boots in preperation for the suit and slipped the codpiece on then the boots. I put the belt on, switched the lights on the chestplate and the belt to "on" and then proceeded to put the shoulderpads on. The shoulderpads are of fantastic quality with excellent hinges on the actually shoulder parts. it has a chain attached where the cloak attaches to and looks like the chain is holding the cloak on. The last piece was the helmet, remember i said it was going to look stupid!I put the under helmet cloth headpiece on (to cover up your neck) and strapped the face plate on. I lowered the top of the mask on and had a look in the mirror.the helmet looked fantastic with the suit although it was oversized to fit Dave Prowse's head it actually fitted the suit. I am 6'1 with a slim build, but the suit pads you out amazingly. Be warned though, the suit weighs 9 kilo's (1 & 1/2 stone) and you are sweating profusely before you get the gloves and helmet on. the costume comes with a small device that fits in the helmet which contains a speaker this is folowed by a wire down to the hand where you hold a box with a button. Once the button is pressed you hear the infamous scary Darth Vader Breathing. All in all I am very pleased with this costume. I imagine that the die hard Star Wars fans would pick bits out that arent correct but I am not that fussy and I have managed to scare quite a few kids and friend whilst wearing it.If you have the money to purchase this kit, then I would highly recommend it. I have purchased a mannequin to stand it up next to my piano (which is also shiny black) and they accompany each other nicely.

Excellet, but there are some concerns
As other reviews have stated, this costume is VERY HOT to wear. I am talking about feeling like I was in the sauna for an hour hot. I tried the costume on with shorts and a tank top, with air conditioning on and I couldn't wait to take it off, as I was sweltering in it. It is a concern, as I am hoping to use it at future con events, but am genuinely concerned about heat exhaustion. The costume itself is pretty awesome and really looks like Darth Vader. I understand why it will not meet the standard of the 501st, but it is a much better Darth Vader costume than most that are out there. There is no doubt that people will be impressed by the costume and you will look like the real Darth Vader. It has light up buttons, which is excellent and, unlike some of the other reviews, I do not think that the helmet is over-sized at all.Another issue that many of the reviews did not address is the breathing machine/sound device. It is awful. You have to push the button that leads from the machine into your hand every time that you want to sound like Darth Vader breathing, which means you will push it a lot. When you do push it, it sounds like someone breathing into a tin can. I have other Darth Vader helmets that are very basic with a breathing sound effect that did not cost much and they are all much better than the one that comes with this costume. For the cost of this costume, the breathing machine should be much better. The sizing options on Amazon are not clearly stated and should be corrected. If you are under 6' 2" then you need to get the standard size. If you are above, make sure that you get the x-large. You will also probably need some adjustments beyond what the costume can do itself to make the strap size work.Overall, I am not sorry that I bought it and, although I would prefer a custom-made Darth Vader costume that would meet the 501 standard, I do not have the $1,000 plus that the expert costumes cost. This is clearly a good Darth Vader costume and will get great responses at comic-con and Halloween events.

Thoroughly disappointed for 700 dollars
Unfortunately before I even had the chance to use it the chest piece had become defective and fallen apart. I had intentions to go to a couple parties/contests. The fake red button had fallen off and is now rattling around inside the unit. The suit is at this point tacky looking and unusable. Thoroughly disappointed for 700 dollars. Want a return on this product.

Great costume
Purchased "Standard" size; 6'2" / 180lbs, this is slightly too short in the torso. Quality is better than any costume you'll find for the price, but it's not good enough to join the 501st.
