Double vinyl LP pressing. 2018 collection. The deepest voice, the silkiest strings, the sultriest soul smashes of the disco era! Featuring Barry White's most iconic tracks, Love's Theme: The Best Of The 20th Century Singles includes the legendary hits 'Love's Theme', 'I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby', 'Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up', 'I've Got So Much To Give' and many more. Love's Theme features newly remastered audio from the 20th Century Records master tapes and features new liner notes and track details. A three-time Grammy Award-winner known for his distinctive bass-baritone voice and romantic image, Barry White's greatest success came in the 1970s as a solo singer and with The Love Unlimited Orchestra, crafting many enduring soul, funk, and disco songs.

Good value overview of White's Seventies singles
Consisting of 21 tracks, this compilation CD features all of Barry's well known (and some not so well known) singles released on the 20th Century label between 1973-1979. It opens with Love Unlimited Orchestra's classic 'Love's Theme' and thereafter the songs are presented in chronological order. Mostly single edits, the music is timeless and still sounds as good today as it did when it was first released. A big man with a big talent, it's worth remembering that Barry was much more than just a vocalist and piano player – he wrote, produced and arranged / co-arranged almost everything here.Housed in a basic gatefold cardboard sleeve with an especially lousy cover (the portrait of White looks like a bad photocopy of a photograph), there are some very brief liner notes and a booklet containing song credits. The playing time is a generous 77:31 minutes and none of the tracks have been remastered. A 3CD set which provides a more in depth overview of White's singles for 20th Century has also been released. The Barry White 'All-Time Greatest Hits' compilation from 1994 shares a near identical track list, features one less track and some of the tracks credited as single edits on that album play for longer than those on this compilation. I'm not a Barry White expert, but the edits on this CD sound fine. 5 star music; 4 star compilation.

A nice collection, EXCEPT Just The Way You Are is ...
A nice collection, EXCEPT Just The Way You Are is NOT the UK single version as stated. Surprisingly the 7 inch single has a slightly longer intro before the vocal kicks in, although overall the single is about 15 seconds shorter than the version on this cd. I have never found the proper 7 inch version on any cd, but certainly expected to find it here, supposedly a proper singles collection.27th July 2020, further comments :-Can't Get Enough Of Your Love Babe cuts about 15+ seconds of fade out from the UK 7" version. It can be found on the Barry White 'Icon' CD, albeit with a few seconds more fade than the 7".You're The First, The Last, My Everything has a few more seconds fade than the UK 7". This is not a problem, anyone can fade out a song early, just a bit strange though that this collection is supposed to represent the exact single versions.

2018 take, we'll it's all WHITE...!
A fabulous new take on the old favourites here, I'm still not sure if I miss the ruff edges of the initial recordings, yes it's louder much so and yes there's more detail there and smoother. Do I still prefer the vinyl from the seventies hmmmn I fear so, glad I bought it well its nice to know how technology can clean things up and bring old recordings into what they could have sounded like in the day being a digital age now. If you didn't know the older recordings I'd say yep it's a no brainer for cd.

Fantastic for the price.
Includes many well know tracks. A wonderful reminder of when real music existed. Not all tracks are of the classics and of course it's impossible to include them all. However....for the price, its a fantastic compilation.

Recommended especially if you haven’t got many of his albums.
Excellent compilation of Barry’s hits, probably all of them. It has to be remembered that these are the singles versions which are considerably shorter than the LP versions. Overall sound quality is pretty good. Nothing to suggest they have been remastered.Vinyl pressing is a bit crackly but this is really only evident between tracks.,
