Doll Days!: Sew an Everyday Wardrobe for 18" Dolls Kindle Edition

I bought this book after loving the fit and design that I found in Sew N Style. Though this book has fewer patterns, it doesn't disappoint, and the modification and finishing tips are very helpful even though I have been sewing for over 30 years. I agree, this is for an intermediate or advanced sewist, vs. beginner. If a mom or grandmother is teaching her daughter/granddaughter to sew for her 18" dolls as I am, this is a great addition, when you want to sew something a little more challenging.

Book is better than I imagined it would be - pictures are instructive, book is organized in a sensible way - each pattern has full color instructions. Patterns are on nice white paper. Be sure if you buy used that those patterns are there because they are mounted in the back and can be pulled out. Mine was new and very very nicely done - this is much better than some books I have seen. I am getting back into sewing doll clothing as a hobby since my DD is now an adult, and I wanted quality paper patterns instead of thin brown tissue and this is the way to go! If you price even ONE sewing pattern fromt he Big 4 you will see this book is less expensive than retail on one pattern. Good grief. Love this. I will be tracing the patterns on a heavier paper stock for future use as templates for designing something myself for my doll or dolls. Once the bug hits, who knows?

I have used this book extensively for the last few weeks. The patterns are great, the instructions are clear and the results are so much fun. From beginner to advanced, Erin tells you exactly how to do each step. I can't wait until she produces another book. I own what she has printed so far and recommend it highly. I am an advanced beginner to intermediate sewist who loves to sew for dolls of 18 inch height.

I have already within the first three pages learned some good tricks and ideas are flooding in. Glad I found Joan Hinds books on making 18" tall doll clothing. Great patterns and ideas only limited by an individuals imagination. Thanks!

The book has some fantastic ideas. The skirt pictured was easy to make! Would have liked to see at least one full pant pattern though. Overall... great book!

I have two of her books! They are both excellent! Her instructions are clear and include pictures of the steps. She illustrates many ideas to give each pattern many different looks! Fit is great on my doll! ( American Girl).

Just the cutest patterns for the 18 inch doll. Made so the beginner can make adorable outfits for their dolls. I purchased this so I could have several styles to make doll clothes for the young girls at my church. These patterns are easy and basic, making it easy to get very creative with your own ideas and designs. I highly recommend this book.

Great value for the money. I have been sewing for over 30 years and this book had tips that I never thought of.

It has clear instructions with good explanations of sewing terminology and techniques.The patterns are graded from 'beginner' to 'confident beginner' and ' intermediate'.The doll outfits look attractive and in many cases are interchangeable so you can create a wide variety of looks for your 18" doll.It is a short book with only 48 pages, and the pattern sheets in a separate pullout at the end.In my opinion it is well worth the money I paid for it (from a marketplace seller), and I hope to make lots of outfits from it.

Updating this review as I had issues with the kindle version and printing out the pattern pieces, they came out smaller than they should have done. Spoke to the author and she was so helpful regarding this. So bear this in mind when printing out from kindle, otherwise it is a lovely book, with lovely patterns.

Spot on for 7 yr old’s dolls

Lovely easy to follow full size patterns. My granddaughter was delighted with the clothes I made for her ‘Our Generation’ dolls. She especially liked the school uniform patterns and I recycled her grown out uniform to make the dolls uniforms like hers.
