Old or New Rain Fly? Toss the Dice and Hope for New
This is a fun tent but the EARLY rain fly design is the WORST. It does very little to stand up to the elements - water seeped toward the center (where we were sleeping) with light rainfall. We returned the first one because the rain fly was too pitiful for camping during sea kayaking trips in Alaska. Additionally, the stitching in the tent itself looked like some nutter couldn't get the seam the first time around - tried twice more - and still missed the mark. That is poor quality control. The newer/redesigned rain fly (~2017?) is supposedly better...but I have yet to find one. I just purchased this tent again a week ago (February 2018) and yet again it was shipped with the old rain fly design. We returned it immediately.

Got trees? You need this!
Best adult treehouse ive ever seen. Connect is plenty big for two & gear, great interior height & four doors that roll up are awsome. Center strap works for his / her sides. Rainfly took several days rain with no leaks. Kinda loose & floppy but sure does work. Setup is not exactly a snap, but certainly not terrible, even at night. Key is lining up pole intersections with anchor points straight thru line of sight. When its rjight zippers are smooth, and both sides feel the same when you lay down. Also: the longer the strap from tent to tree, the higher you must place it. All in all well thought out unit. Looks like some kind of spaceship rather than a tent. Total package is kinda heavy, but worth the haul. I have two herniated disks, and i sleep GREAT in this thing. Super ventilation if fly is staked out. I prefer to setup about 6 feet off ground so i can sit and hangout underneath. Some battery powered rope lighting really adds nightime eye candy. Ceiling gear loft is a must. Keep velcro off screen mesh, tears it up. Duffel bag & tent stakes, bungee cord, spare parts : lifelong piece of equipment here. Two thumbs to tenrsile. Only thing to top this tent would be a portable base for setup with no trees.

Most expensive tent I’ve ever purchased! 😅
I purchased this tent and hiked 5 miles into Harriman State Park to Big Hill Cabin. YES! I’m nuts! That was the most exhausting thing I’ve probably ever done, but in hindsight probably needed the exercise! Awesome tent, just about everyone passing by will talk to you about it. Keeps dry for the most part in rain, though I always use a canopy/tarp from bad experiences. So if you’re going short distances and want a rad little tent this is a cool one for sure! I’m 6’2, 220lbs, I fit comfortable. I camped with my daughter and I did find that if I strung myside just a little bit higher we evened out nicely at night. Obviously this will differ per person and situation.

Great views available if you can shoulder the extra weight.
Bought one for my 20-something son for his birthday and he loves it! It backpacks OK (the tightening ratchets are a bit heavy), is easy to set up (once you've practiced a few times) but isn't very insulating. He and his buddy were fine in their sleep bags, but his Goldie was shivering. Had to have Indy sleep in his bag the first time and used a heat insulating blanket in the bottom corner and a doggie sweater the next time. In his opinion, at this price point, it isn't an amazing backpacking tent due to the overall weight, more for an addition to campground camping. But if you and your camping buddy are weight-lifting backpackers and can shoulder the bit extra weight, it is amazing to not be tied to finding flat ground to pitch your tent on.

Not worth the money. Maybe half the price.
I gave it a 2 because its an awesome idea, but needs improvement in my opinion. 1 the zippers didn't zip well after only one camping trip. You can see gaps in the pics.2nd we used in the rain. Tent stayed bone dry on the inside. But the straps that hold the tent stretched some why being wet so it started sagging enough to cause you to slide inside the tent. This thing really needs to be cranked right to be comfortable. If rain hits forget it.Second, I know it never said this was a backpacking tent. But It could be if they just figured a way to get the weight down. It just weighs so much.Over all, for 450.00 I should have felt like I was sleeping on a perfect cloud and it just didn't feel that way.Oh, and set up and tear down is not as easy as videos say. It's a job!

However, when you pay a premium price for a premium product you expect a premium product so I'm not really sure what happened here. If you look at the pictures and the video there is an issue with 2 of the zippers that was a deal breaker for us. There were teeth missing/misaligned on the zipper and it was really difficult to turn the corner with the zipper from inside the tent. Its also impossible to turn to corner on the zipper from the outside AFTER laying in the tent. The zipper will turn the corner just fine from the outside on the initial setup. After laying in the tent, it will no longer close from the outside. I've contacted Tentsile to see if they are addressing this issue. If so, I will purchase another one at a later date. If not, I'll have to find something else. I don't mind paying good money for a good product, but zipper issues after one use is sign of other potential problems down the road. Maybe they could make there warranty longer than a year if they aren't actively addressing the issue.

3 anchor trees need to align perfectly.
Function vs fashion... 🤔. First off the tent is “cool” and very expensive.. unfortunately the main attraction of the getting this tent of course is being able to hang it in the trees.. however the tent is only as good as it’s surrounding trees, if the geometry of the trees does not perfectly align then a sag to one side of the tent is created. I was going to sleep in the tent with my girlfriend but after seeing how we would up stuffed to one side of the tent I decided my buddy could sleep in it instead. He was stoked and said he slept well in it. If the tent was more cost effective I would have given a solid 4 perhaps 5 stars.

Dude....... it's awesome.
This thing is awesome!! Great night sleep, super cozy and it wasn't as bad as I thought to set up. It did take a while to find the right trees, and to make sure the tent was positioned correctly for all three sides to be taught, but we got it done. I was a bit confused about how the ladder works on the Connect, and luckily we had a picnic table below one side, so that made it easy.Loved sleeping up high, and we had no need for the rain fly, just fell asleep looking up at the stars.

Fantastic design for a 2 person hammock
I was a little unsure at first how this would work as a suspended tent for 2 full sized adults (roughly 450lbs). But, I have to say the tent performed excellent! The biggest challenge was finding the right set of trees with enough space to create the necessary tension, and then to balance the tension so that one side didn't go lower than the other. But once we figured that out, we were able to ratchet enough tension to keep us aloft all night. I was especially impressed by the design with a center spine. This created a separator that allowed each person to have their own hammock-like sleeping section without causing each to roll onto each other throughout the night (which, honestly was my biggest concern with a 2-person hammock design).Anyways, I highly recommend this product it is solid.

Durable and scenic!
First use of this tent was on a 3 night canoe trip down the Athabasca sleeping 2 people. Learned to pick out the best angle of support trees and proper tension in the floor separation strap after the first set up. It took minimal additional time to set up compared to the rest of the crew with ground tent but we had the best view from our Connect.

Amazing
Tentsiles are awesome. Always fun for me and friends. Sometimes its hard to find good trees for a perfect set-up, but so it goes. My only complaint is that, while this thing is very sturdy, the zippers seem flimsy and there are some questionable seams (bad sewing) on the unit I received. Ive been using mine for a whole summer now and haven't had any problems with it though.Overall, if you want to set-up your hammocking game: get one.

Durable but a little pricey
Super simple setup for what it is. I loved the design so much I set it up in my front yard the first night I owned it. Only complaint I have is it hangs up so animals don't always see it. I had something walking up to my tent and sniffing it out curious as to what it was. Super durable materials, quality I could feel. It was very cozy feeling to relax in during the day as well as sleeping in during the night. I also have to say there is no real fine print on the returns policy for the company itself. Which worried me for how highly priced it is.
