Good book for beginners who wanted to code Django API
The author explained all concepts very well. Personally, I was expecting custom user model creation and adding endpoints to it. But this books covers django allauth.

Very good for beginners
Firstly let me say that this book is very well written, and the code examples are thorough and well explained. However I was slightly disappointed at how brief it was, and as another reviewer mentioned, by the lack of more complicated discussion.I think I read the book in a little over an hour, and while what it did cover was very well explained, realistically it doesn't touch on much more than what you might expect to find in a series of blog posts. And, to be frank, I don't think I learned anything new from reading the book. For those who are new to Django, or new to the concept of APIs, this is probably a very good resource. But for those looking for something that covers DRF in a little more detail, this book probably isn't the one for you.

Very helpful walkthrough for beginners
Although shorter than the other two books in the series (Django for Beginners + Django for Professionals), this gives an excellent tutorial for implementing APIs in Django web apps. The book walks you through step-by-step from start to finish, including building a lightweight front-end to consume the data. It is perfect for beginners, as it grounded in the very latest best practices, and all the code works together (which is much more difficult to achieve if reading blog posts from different authors).

Well written but not deep enough
The book covers all the basic information and the concepts of API and is great for any beginner with lots of basic examples and step by step guides. But fails to elaborate the options of different classes and only touch the important concepts without actually going deep on the subjects. There is not enough front end examples. Like react and how it will store the authentications. It doesn’t give an example of a more complicated model. It doesn’t show a more complicated permissions. It doesn't cover JWT, even though it mentions it is the post popular authentication for the REST api.

Best Django API tutorial out there
This is the second book I have bought from this Author and it is equally as fantastic as the first. Before reading I had a pretty fuzzy idea of what APIs were and why they were useful but the book has explained everything very clearly. It starts by talking you through what APIs are, why they are useful and how the internet generally functions. Then it takes you through a number of practical tutorials, step-by-step use Django REST framework as well as React as a front end. Very highly recommended. This author is my first stop for learning anything to do with Django. Check out his website too which is a gold mine of useful, practical tutorials that work.

Finally a book where all the code works!!!
In the last few days I have bought some book on Django and Python and as usual, it seems that most authors cannot make the code in their books work (missing steps and code). This book, however, is good, and I mean really good! I am just through the first chapter and the text is clearly explained. The code is just working and it has ALL the steps, in and outside the coding. It made me buy his other book as well.I can fully recommend this book
