DOIT Electric Fireplace, Electric Fireplace Logs with Realistic Ember Bed and Remote Controller, 1500W Indoor Wall Heater for Bedroom and Living Room

This is a good fireplace and looks pretty realistic especially for the money - but it has some issues.1) The beeping sound when you turn the fireplace on or change the settings is absurdly loud. If anyone is sleeping in your house you cannot use the fireplace, it will wake them up. If you live in an apartment it will almost certainly annoy your neighbors. Not sure why they did this.2) They’ve programmed the light to go through cycles of dim and bright every 5 seconds or so. I’ve never seen an actual fire do this, and it makes it look much less realistic, almost tacky. There’s no advantage of this. It’s the one aspect that lets you immediately tell that it’s not a real fire. And there’s no way to turn it off.

What’s great is that it fits perfectly in our small fireplace, and the power cord is long enough to access our outlet even though it’s on the opposite side of the unit (cord on right of unit). The flame-effect is very realistic and can work whether the heat is on or not. Speaking of heat, this unit heated up our 600 sq. ft. basement really well! After an hour, I had to turn the heat off!And while we’re on the subject of heat, let’s talk about where this insert falls short. It heats well, but there’s no way to adjust the temperature, so it’s either heat or no heat! The other shortcoming is the burning ember effect. You can adjust how bright the embers are, but you can’t stop them from dimming and brightening every 5 seconds or so. That’s the one feature that puts a slight damper on the realistic effect.Apart from its two slight imperfections, this fireplace insert is a wonderful addition to our basement for a little fireplace ambiance and lots of heat. It is certainly comparable to the more expensive brands. I highly recommend it.

Really, really awful job on shipping, with no bubble wrap included; just the product's box thrown inside a larger box that made it slip and slide and get tossed around during transit; product was clearly labeled FRAGILE on its original box, and also the delivery man had the nerve to place it long side up instead of log side up at my doorstep, which could have easily damaged the motor. C.S. was thoughtful and gave me a promo code on purchases since I was cold and had decided to keep the heater anyway. The heat output could be slightly hotter especially since this is meant to go in a fireplace. It is a beautiful display. Only thing missing would be a "crackling embers" sound rather than a blower sound. But I am glad to have it here and even move it to underneath my desk while working to keep my legs toasty warm.

The media could not be loaded.  Can I give this thing 10 stars? I am in a rental that has a “you’ll burn the house down/ yes, I had it professionally inspected” fireplace. It was a coal burner, and there is a wooden beam as a header, no lining, and no damper. I HATE not being able to have a fire. PROBLEM SOLVED! It looks much more realistic in person and you can’t beat the price. I’m happy!

The media could not be loaded.  The noise in the video is amplified by my phone or I am half deaf. It doesn't sound anything like the jet engine my video makes it out to be. I promise.This little heater pumps out some heat! It won't heat your entire house, but it will make 500sq ft very comfortable.I burn wood in our working fireplace in the winter, but in the fall, this does the trick.I recently painted the inside of our fireplace with black 2,000 degree paint and this makes it look almost like a real slow rolling fire.Would recommend to all

I wanted to like the unit as it looks great and is slightly cheaper than others, but any time you press any button to turn it on, adjust heat, adjust flame, etc it emits a loud, shrill beep similar to a smoke detector. I ended up returning for a different brand

The media could not be loaded.  This is a nice unit for the money. Absolutely gorgeous flame effect. I had a problem with mine though, it had a very loud hum. Even behind a glass insert. All the reviews I read said it was super quiet so figured it is just a defect. I contacted the seller and he responded very quickly and was eager to make things right. The issue was resolved to my satisfaction! Great customer service which is rare now a days.
