Milwaukee 2257-20 spot Infrared

i ordered this at $184.79 in early 2019 and its now over $290 less than a year later. im not sure why seller was giving them away at such an absurdly inexpensive value but thank you lincoln electriccomparing this milwaukee 2257-20 with other similarly spec-ed thermal cameras prices, its a heck of a bargain. so much of a difference that i was sure it was a scam. but its legit, the savings is due to the lack of all, literally all, bell and whistle type marketing wank companies seem unable to refrain from adding and ratcheting up the cost, almost as much as consumers cant resist being drawn in by these features even if theyre not useful or practical. slap a beer bottle opener and a fidget spinner on this thing and tac on another hundred bucks and people just eat it up. ya, no thank you. . it wont save photos, but thats fine you can take a picture of the imager's screen xD. it wont connect to the internet or fetch your cup of coffee or any of the other very nice and super useful but ultimately unessential and extremely expensive features of other imagers, but most people dont even use all the features their iphones are capable of, and its likely true for thermal imagers as well. if you dont need a micro sd slot and usb communication to cpu and freaking gps navigation or cb radio, then you can save yourself the 5 thousand dollars, and get this bare bones thermal camera.this is a great tool. it gets a little laggy, the screen has freak outs sometimes of brief ghosting, but otherwise its fast to start and view thermal images in real time. super intuitive, no instructions required, ive never used an expensive thermal image device to compare it with, but as a first time thermographer this was easy to use and the variety of utility is only limited to the imagination of the operator. ive used it to find pests and secure the garden, to verify the duct work for my a.c. installs, to check pcb components for fault, attic insulation efficiency, and there were so many missed opportunities that this would have helped out if i had it with me at the time. wish i got 2, i may even purchase another for 300, or go for the 2258. altho that fluke vt04 is lookin hecka thicc, a tough choice. at <200 bucks and no need for features, the decision was easy

I bought this solely for the purpose of finding hidden cameras in residences, hotel rooms or AirBnB's where I stay. Although this method cannot guarantee a 100% detection rate, I've truly enjoyed both finding small electronics with this device, as well as demonstrating to the public how to find hidden cameras thanks to thermal imaging. The spot infrared gun is easy to use: keep your finger on the trigger, and the image updates live as you examine a spot. You can also point-and-shoot, but the live screen updates are the most useful.Another reviewer mentioned it not having the bells and whistles: I agree that it doesn't matter for the price. I do wish I had gotten this thermometer for as low a deal as they did, but even with the ~290$ price range it's still the cheapest you'll find on Amazon as of this review writing with the imaging features.

Item was sold as new and it previously been opened send battery already in it. Obviously not new. Works as it should just fine. Shouldn't be sold as new if it is not
