A delight to read
This book is a three-books-in-one volume, so I've given an overview of each story below. I think these books are great. They follow fifteen-year-old Christy Miller as she struggles through her teenage years. They are well-written and fun. Christy is an endearing character who gets into a lot of mischief just trying to live life. I highly recommend this series to teen girls of all ages.Book 1Summer PromiseChristy Miller is thrilled to spend the summer with her aunt and uncle in Newport Beach, California. But Christy doesn't fit in. Her skin is pale and her swimsuit is old and green. Aunt Marti gives her a makeover that includes a new hairstyle and wardrobe. Christy's hair is so short, now, and the clothes might not be her favorite styles, but she does feel older and sophisticated. She decides that she likes her new look.Christy also likes a cute surfer named Todd, but she isn't sure he likes her back. She's invited to a get-together one night and hopes that Todd will be there. Instead, she discovers a wild party with deadly consequences. Christy struggles to understand what's happened and how to move forward. Can Christy find her true self without breaking her summer promise?Book 2A Whisper and a WishChristy's life is changing. Her family is moving to California, but before Christy can get too excited, she discovers that her family won't live in Newport Beach like Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob. Christy's dad gets a job in Escondido, an hour and a half away from the beach and Christy's friends. Christy has to start over making new friends. She doesn't have as much freedom with her parents as she had with Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob. There are a lot more rules to follow at home. And a brush with the law on a trip to Palm Springs won't help prove to her parents that she's growing up. Can Christy do what's right and still obey her parents?Book 3Yours ForeverChristy can't wait to spend Christmas in Newport Beach. Not only will she see all her beach friends, but Todd has moved to Newport Beach permanently! Christy is confused about her relationship with Todd. He never says anything to help her understand how he feels. Her friend, Heather, talks Christy into flirting with Doug to make Todd jealous, but this only seems to make everyone mad at her. Why are relationships so hard? Even Aunt Marti isn't speaking to Christy!Again, I highly recommend this series for girls ages 12 and up. Christy is a delight to read and she struggles with a lot of tough things in this series. There are four, three-book volumes in the re-released series, and a college years volume.

THESE BOOKS CHANGED MY LIFE!!
These books have changed my life! I love them so much!! I've read them all! I actually just ordered book 17! I received the first volume for my 11th birthday, and I refused to read it. I wanted nothing to do with a Christian romance. I already knew they would just sugar-coat it, and make it boring. On my 13th birthday, my mom told me to try it. I reluctantly pulled it out, and I started reading. I was immediately hooked!! I've grown up in a Christian home my entire life, but these books gave me a more realistic point of view from a 15 year old girl. I can't tell you how much I've fallen in love with these characters. To be honest, I've kinda avoided reading the books, because I only have two left.. :( Todd and Christy's relationship is literally what I want! I love how respectable they are about taking it slow, and how God is at the center of their relationship! It's so cool how Christy started off knowing near to nothing about God, and then she met Doug, Tracy, and of course Todd, who transformed her life for the better! I've been obsessed with these books, and haven't stopped reading them! This is defiantly my all time favorite series, and I recommend this book for everyone! In their later years, I love how Robin handeled their intimate moments. She made it sound like the most amazing, most respected experience. Todd and Christy experience a lot of hardships in their later years, and they trust God with everything. I can't begin to tell you how much I've fallen in love with Todd. Now as far as a age requirement, I recommend this book for anyone over 12. This is a high school relationship kind of book, and they do present a few 'adult' topics, such as teen pregnancy, and drug abuse. But when these topics come up, Todd and Christy handle them in a very God-like manner. Todd is the ultimate man of God, even though you learn later on that he grew up in a diffucult house hold. Overall, these books are for everyone, and can really change your outlook on life, and spiritual matter. There are many instances, where a whole page will be dedicated to talking about God, and that really helped me understand Him in a whole new way! These books will change your life as much as they're changed mine! ~Faith (14)

Christy Miller is a MUST read for any young women trying to navigate life! FANTASTIC series!
This book is awesome! I read it as a young girl and just gifted it to my 13 year old niece, over 20 years later. She ate it up! She read the entire volume in a week and begged me to send her the next volume right away. It has been three weeks since her birthday and she is waiting for Amazon to bring her volume 4.Truly a fantastic story and strong characters that stand the test of time. The message and hope that this series brings is so important! Fantastic for young girls navigating the trials of teenage years. So thankful that Robin wrote these books. They have been such a blessing to my family. If you have not checked out the rest of Robinβs offerings please do. I will be sending my niece the Sierra Jensen series as well. As she gets older I will share the adult series with her.As a non reader in my youth who struggled with image and belonging this book changed my life. I spent the next few years waiting for Robin to write the next book. As I went off to college she was writing the Glenbrook series, also AMAZING.All of her books are inspirational for women of all ages. My college roommates loved her books and read them all, starting with Christy Miller. If you invest time and money into Robinβs books you will not be disappointed!!

Can't recommend highly enough
We just love Robin Jones Gunn and I can't recommend this particular series highly enough. All four of my children will benefit hugely from the lovely stories enriched with good sound examples of how to 'do life' even down to the smallest and sometimes seemingly insignificant aspects of growing up. These are books that we refer back to often in everyday life as there are ideas and reassurances for everyone in the family - as well as great entertainment! My thirteen year old daughter (who isn't a big reader due to eyesight difficulties) just couldn't wait to snuggle down for the next installment!

Great Book
I thouroughly enjoyed reading these three stories. I read the later novels first and it was great to be able to go back to the beginning and learn how all the characters first met. I'd recommend this to anyone interested in learning more about God and furthering their own Christian faith.
