Wondeful new horror manga
This review will not include any spoilers.Being relatively new to manga I had to take a few shots in the dark to figure out what series I would follow. This is one of the series that I'm so happy I purchased! All avoid describing what the story is since you can read the description easily enough. Instead I'll tell you what my Impressions were of the overall story.Early on this manga reached out and grabbed my attention and managed to hold it throughout the entire first volume. There is a very clear story laid out straight from the get go, and things move fast. I hope you're not looking for a relaxing story because this one definitely moves fast and keeps you on your toes. I thought the story was very clearly explained while still leaving some things to future volumes. One thing that did bother me was how cold and heartless they portrayed most people in the manga. I suppose people can be that way it just felt a little over-the-top sometimes. The art itself is very well rendered, making good use of black and white to leave the pages at just the right shade. Sometimes mangas can get a little too dark and it makes it hard to follow what's happening in each panel. I never had that issue with Ajin, and I could always clearly tell what was going on even during some intense action sequences! There were some awesome action panels so but I hope you don't mind stylized violence because there is a lot of it.Overall I gave this manga 5 stars. I found the story fresh and exciting and it was backed up with clear and direct art.Warning: I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under the age of 15 or 16. While not being exactly gory it is very violent and there are some extended torture scenes.

great world building in a dark, promising series
Sometimes I think 'do I REALLY need to get sucked into another series?'. And then I find (or have people wave it in front of my face) a series like Ajin, which has a premise that sucks me in - people who are 'demi-human' in that no matter what you do to them, no matter how much damage their body takes, they don't die. Then it shows how the world reacts to these people. Kei Nagai discovers that he is one of these beings (if I have any issue with the story in the first novel, it's the set up of how this goes about, it's a bit pat, but other than that, the story moves along rather well). This is a dark series, there's some mature themes along the lines of torture, unethical studies and of course there's a good bit of gore, but it has some very good world building in it and motivations behind the characters' actions. It's one that leaves me very eager for the next volume.

Fast paced. Seems like their should be a volume or two before this one, but still a great story
I just started back reading manga, and saw that this title was recommended on a few manga/anime sites. Seeing that volumes 1-5 were out, I went ahead and purchased all 5 and preordered 6.I will caution that it is very fast paced, and seems like it starts in the middle for some reason. What I mean is, it seems that volume 1 should be volume 3. There isn't a whole lot of back story on the Ajin, at first. It's like you should already know what they are, and why they're here on Earth. The back story is slightly explained throughout the series, but, I still believe that they could tell more about the Ajin. It's not a bad manga, but I wouldn't recommend it for folks just getting into manga.I'm excited to read more of the story and hope that it fleshes the creatures out a bit more. If you're a fan of manga, then I would really suggest picking this up.

AJIN: Demi-Human, Vol. 1 (My Kindle Review)
In a world where demi-humans and regular humans exist together, we follow the story of regular-looking teen Kei Nagai whose life takes a fateful turn after a truck accident. The accident reveals that Kei is part demi-human as he’s able to revive himself and is discovered that he became that way after a fateful encounter with one a few years ago. Aside from the fact that demi-humans are immortal supernatural beings, there are very rare to find and are also worth a lucrative price. Now on the run from greedy poachers and the authorities, he has the help of his friend Kai by his side but other unknown dangers will be in his sight.“AJIN” is a really intense and frightening horror read with Kei’s survival and its demi-human lore (similar to Tokyo Ghoul) hooking me in There’s also a bit of gore and action that also makes it gripping from page to page. I’m definitely eager to see where Kei’s story will go and if he’ll be able to save himself. A (100%/Outstanding)

Great story, but maybe priced too high as it took me less than an hour to read.
I bought this because I absolutely loved the anime and wanted more of the characters and stories, and I thoroughly enjoyed the read. However, I feel as if it is overpriced for the amount of content in it, as it only gave me 40 minutes of reading time.

Buena calidad
Buen tamaño, la calidad del papel es excelente muy importante al momento de leer. Es tapa blanda, pero no tan endeble como para doblarse rápido

Great Manga
This was a an interesting manga. I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into with this. Demi-humans sound like a new concept and I’m ready to learn more.

Slow, but so good.
I felt like the pace of things was slow. Even though there was action, you were kept in the dark for so long it was almost uninteresting at points, but just interesting enough that I stuck with it. I’m glad I did, because I think it will be a great series now that the ball is rolling. The last 1/4 of the book left me needing more! While I wouldn’t likely reread this first volume, it was enjoyable.

Guter Auftakt

I was curious about this manga for a while and when I finally read it, I must admit it really surprised me in a very nice way. The story was great and was moving at a good pace, not to mention the ending left you wanting to read the next volume ASAP. For this reason I would recommend anyone wanting to check this manga up for the first time, to try getting at least the first three volume because you're going to want to know what would happen next a soon as you finish reading one volume.
