Shortbread House of Edinburgh Scottish Shortbread Bites, Lemon (1 Pack)

Bought this as a gift for a friend, did not disappoint. Having been to Scotland, i wasn’t familiar with this Brand, The Sicilian Lemon Cookie is the Tops. A traditional Scottish Biscuit and an Iced Lemon Cookie in One.

Holy crap are these amazing, so much flavor. There’s a really delicious richness and a slight, almost savory note to these shortbread cookies, as if it used browned butter. The texture is super crumbly and “short”, as a shortbread should be, and the level of sweetness is utterly perfect. This might be one of the best shortbread cookies I’ve come across on Amazon - I highly recommend them!

No photo because these cookies did not last very long. They have a much different consistency and bite compared to other Scottish shortbread cookies. Much more crumbly. A little more difficult to dunk in tea because of crumbly-ness. I think they have better flavor than standard shortbread cookie. The salted caramel version are my new favorite tea biscuit!

If you like the sharp bright taste of lemon in a cookie, you might appreciate these. For me, they weren't sweet enough to balance out that sharpness.HOWEVER: these cookies would make a great base for cheesecake! (Added extra star!)FYI: They were all whole, no broken cookies.

The best short bread I have been able to buy in the USA. I think even a Scot would approve.Pricy but worth every penny.

I was so excited about getting these. Shortbread is my favorite. But not this shortbread. Lemon might be my favorite flavor, but these have a little too much lemon. The ingredients in these are stellar, but the lemon is a bit too bright. It drowns out the rich, buttery taste. I'm willing to admit that it's just personal taste. I like my shortbread to get most of its taste from butter. But all of that doesn't matter, because I didn't receive cookies. I got crumbs. Five oz. of crumbs.The cookies are small, about 1.5" in diameter (there were three unbroken ones in my box, so I could tell). I'm telling you that, so you'll realize how tiny the crumbs were. Somehow it just isn't as satisfying to gulp down a handful of crumbs as it is to nibble a cookie.And, of course, it's a food item, so there's no return. I'm going to have to re-think my habit of buying lots of neat food products from Amazon, because so many are non-returnable. So I'll have to advise against spending the money on these. Unless you need lemon crumbs.
