Great Gingerbread baking and decorating project!
My 5 year old grandson and I often get gingerbread house kits to assemble and decorate. Lately these kits have come with all broken pieces and the frosting seems old. My grandson loves Ninja things now. I saw this kit and we baked the cookies and called them Ninja-bread cookies, instead of Ginger-bread cookies! It comes with a powder mix and all you add is water, butter and honey to make the cookie dough. The dough was a little sticky, but it worked out fine. The cookies actually taste really good! We didn't make the frosting, we instead just bought other small colored frosting tubes and candies and decorated with those. It was a great project to do with my grandson. It was so much fun that I actually just ordered two more kits!

So much fun!
These were so much fun to decorate! My son and I made them the day of the new walking dead premiere, which went over so well with the rest of the family! The best part of the kit is that after you make the batch of cookies that's included, you still have the cookie cutters for every time you want to make more! The gingerbread mix that was included was super tasty by the way, and the red and black icing tubes were great. If I had to do it again though, I would add more powdered sugar to the white icing mix than what it called for - My white icing was quite runny. Still great though!

Don't waste your money!!!
Good concept but failed overall. Shapes turned out fine but the cookies did NOT taste good and were very hard (not because we overcooked). Would never buy again.

Not PREMADE Cookies
The package does not contain PREMADE cookies.I thought I was purchasing premade gingerbread cookies that could then be decorated. It contains a cookie mix that needs additional ingredients (honey, butter) to make the batter. It also contains a mix to make some frosting - also requiring additional ingredients. So if you're looking for already made gingerbread cookies, look elsewhere! That said, I did make the batter and found that I needed to add more honey and water than required to make the dough. They did bake well and the final cookies were good. I wouldn't bother with the frosting - too much trouble - I buy Welton frosting bottles to do the decorating.

Good zombie action!
Most of the folks in our family watch "Walking Dead," and these cookies were a big hit. I made a separate recipe of gingerbread cookie dough, and we used the pictures on the box for artistic guidance. We also made an adorable little gingerbread house... all pastels and sweetness.... and then filled the yard with the marauding zombie army. The whole adventure was great fun.

Very disappointed that these won't be able to be given as ...
This was a reorder-- the first one I received was great-- but this one was not packaged as well and the cookies arrived broken. Very disappointed that these won't be able to be given as a gift because they are broken.

Surprisingly good value AND taste!
These cookies actually tasted good! In the past I've purchased gingerbread cookie kits and they came with pre-made cookies that were usually dry and hard and didn't taste very good at all. In this kit you have to actually bake the cookies yourself and they are pretty yummy! The kids also had a great time decorating them themselves. We purchased the Ninjabread cookies and the Walking Ginger Dead cookies. Both excellent (and I now have cute cookie cutters for making more with my own recipes later, woo!) I also bought the Ugly Sweater cookies as a gift for a friend.
