We bought this for our 9 year old son to swing on. He sits and we swing him. He absolutely loves it. The Hammock is good quality and sturdy.

I have been in the Marine industry all my live and the description of how the is hammock is built with "Marine" products is wrong. Far from the truth.

I was truly amazed when I got this hammock in! It is folded into a carrying bag that is incredibly compact and easy to fit in a backpack or hiking bag! I truly had no idea that hammocks like this existed and I wish I had known sooner because it would have saved me countless hours of sleeping on the hard ground while camping!! (And by camping I mean the kind of camping without air mattresses!).The material the hammock is made of is truly incredible. It is somehow light-weight but extremely tough and strong, which is great because I was actually really worried that the material might be flimsy and easily ripped! It feels slinky and soft, not rough like canvas hammocks I have used in the past. It is incredibly easy to refold into the carrying bag after using it (I use the "just stuff it in the bag" method and it works great!). This particular hammock is made for 2 people and I was surprised and delighted when I realized that it is actually tough enough and large enough to easily fit 2 people (or one person with plenty of room to toss and turn!).If all that wasn't enough to make this a great camping hammock, it actually comes with easy-to-use hammock straps (that easily fit in the pouch with the folded hammock). I have never bought a hammock that actually came with straps, I have always had to buy them separately, so this is a great bonus! The straps are made of extremely tough rope and I don't worry at all about them breaking (unlike previous hammock straps I have had!).I HIGHLY recommend this hammock to everyone looking for a lightweight, durable, easy to use hammock for camping or hiking! When I first received notification that my Parachute Hammock was being shipped, I could not wait to try it out. However, I did not know that my leg would prevent me from trying out the hammock as soon as it arrived. I ended up being sidelined with a torn tendon and could not do anything until released by the surgeon. Once I was released I found the first available opportunity to try out the hammock.I can honestly say that if every individual in the world owned this hammock there would be a lot less trouble in the world! It was easy to set up even with my walking boot on. It was very comfortable and I can see myself using this hammock a lot over the years. I also plan on giving hammocks as a gifts to my daughters who spent most of the day trying to steal my hammock. It is easy to pack away as well. Very handy to take with you whenever you head outdoors. Thank you Fox Outfitters for your brilliant design!

I ordered the gray with the red outline/border. I received a red with the black border (not even one of the available selections). They may have ran out?Quality for these are very high. I can just imagine earlier versions that were just single or double stitched and those probably caused som ripping/fraying/falling. Haha!This is triple stitched using a very strong parachute fabric. You will probably need to use a knife to rip this thing. Although very sturdy and strong, it remains to be very comfortable.This is easy to pack, even my 10 year old can put everything back in the attached pouch.I like the tree friendly rope ties as my other ones came with just a regular cord. These have a strong cover around the cords so when securing to a tree, it doesn't scrape the bark as much. It will also help lenghen the life of your cord. The only downside to the cord is it wil be very particular with the distance of the trees one poles you will be hanging this from as the lengths are pretty set.Only reason for the 4stars is due to the wrong color from what was ordered. I'm not big on the red color and I wish I was informed if that color was not available.I received this item at a discount to provide an honest review.
