It is worth it.
I got this epilator for my daughter. My friend told me about the epilator about 2 years ago. I started using it and I have never stopped. I told her I felt like a man because I could jump in the shower and be done in no time at all because I no longer had to shave. I know that there have been several reviews about the pain associated with it. It really isn't painful if you follow the steps that accompanies it. Here is what I did. First, I shaved my legs. For the first wee, I ran the epilator over my legs everyday. This is to get the hairs that grow back in. It is not painful because only a few come out each time you do it. The next week, I would do it every other day or so. Again, only a few hairs are pulled each day. After this, I may use it once or week or so. Once you get to this point, there is really no pain associated with it. The hair that grows back in is so soft and fine that you hardly notice it.

Not so bad
When I first turned it on, I was a bit intimidated by the spinning tweezer head, but once I got up the courage to actually use it on my arms, it wasn't so bad. Don't get me wrong - it doesn't feel good, but it's quite effective and there's no pain afterward like there can be with waxing. The only negative for me is that it takes quite a few swipes over one area to remove all of the hair.

real customer
this thing does inhibit hair regrowth in the spot that you used it on but if you use it on the chest and stomach area it is extremely painful for a grown man. on the legs the pain is tolerable but dont use it on your chest/stomach. also, you have to go over the same spot a few times for it to actually remove the hair and the pain is too much. it does not remove the hair as efficiently as the product description claims and i have fine hair, not thick coarse hair.

Ouch!
I bought this so I would not have to spend so much time shaving. 1) it takes me hours to even close to hair-free using this. 2) it hurt like crazy! I can't even tolerate it above the knee. Below the knee I can put ot on my leg for a few seconds only. My husband and kids come running to see why I am screaming. 3) it pulls at your hairs but doesn't pull them out. I think that's why it hurts so much. and it pinches my skin and I get red marks all over.I have been trying to use it for a few months now. It has not improved. Thought i might get used to the pain or find a "trick" to making it work more effectively. I would rather have to shave every day than to continue using this.

Not the same as my old one
I've had an emjoi epilator for years and I loved it. Recently the battery no longer would hold a charge so it was time to get a new one. I am not very pleased with this one at all. I can go over and over the hair and it just leaves it. Sure, it can claim to be painless if it's not pulling any hair out!!!! I will have to go shopping for either a different model or a completely different brand.

Terrible
My first epilator was a white and blue Emjoi, and I loved it. It was perfect and left everything nice and smooth. This model... I gave it many chances, I tried both speeds, I pulled my skin tight. Nothing would make it work. It would tug at my hair, and not pull any of it out. I returned it, but had to pay shipping, so still lost money. Unfortunate. I don't know whether to trust the Emjoi brand anymore, that's how much brand trust this product ruined for me.

It takes a long time to epilate the first few ...
It takes a long time to epilate the first few rounds, but eventually the hairs grow back thinner and less often. Quite a time committment at first, but it pays off in the long run

Great buy if you can get past the discomfort
I purchased this item years ago and it still works just as well as the day that I bought it. Yes, using it can be extremely painful but the more that it gets used, the less pain I seem to experience. It was well worth the costs when you factor in how much I saved not having to go to a salon for waxing.
