Impressive camera
I was waking up to find holes being dug in my garden lawn. After initially suspecting squirrels, the holes got bigger so I decided to investigate further.I found this camera on Amazon hoping to catch and film the culprit. My purchase was based nearly entirely on price, so I had limited expectations of the performance. I had seen from other reviews that people had managed to film hedgehogs in their garden so I decided to give it a chance. It arrived quickly. Once I opened the box and removed the camera, I opened the battery compartment, put in 8 x AA batteries, put in the SD card, pressed the menu button, adjusted a couple of settings as per the instructions, exited the menu, pushed the camcorder button rather than camera button (to film rather than take photos), then switched the 'test' button to 'on', and it was ready to use. That's it. It was so easy that I was convinced I hadn't done it properly. I tied it to my garden tree and hoped, rather than expected, it would record something. The next morning, I removed the SD card and put it in my computer.Bingo! The camera had recorded a dozen clips of a fox wandering about my garden (clips are 10 seconds long. Maybe this can be adjusted. I haven't bothered to check). I will reward the fox with an apple tonight for being a good performer.

Great Value Camera & Video
I bought this to film a hedgehog we knew was coming into the garden to feed but never saw. We've found out it was coming over my herbs garden onto the patio to feed.It takes great photos and videos .. you can set the number of photos and video length - delay time between shots - set what time it films etc. - all from the control panel inside the camera. The quick set up guide is helpful to get you started. You will need an SD card and 8 batteries .. we're using normal Duracell AA ones at the moment but are going to replace them with rechargeable ones. You can eject the card to download the photos / video or use the usb cable provided.Great value and fun for watching wildlife .. would work great as a security camera too

Good quality product providing a lot of interest
Build quality appears good and so far have not had any problems. Bought it to find out what was eating the food we left out for hedgehogs we had seen in the area. Being nocturnal we catch them in IR so black and white but well good enough to see what is going on. Turns out we have three visiting, I think word has spread about our feast! Also captured a fox which visited the same time as the hedgehog, but didn't seem to bother it.Originally used a SD card from a camera which was 4GB and only Class 4 but it worked. Bought a 16GB class 10 and we were getting unreadable files some of the time despite formatting in the camera. Contacted Support who were very helpful and did a Full format on a PC using FAT32 standard and this seems to have cured the problem, so likely to have been the SD card itself. Support very helpful, quick and polite responses. They are to be congratulated on their service.

Excellent Nature Cam
This is my third Victure trail camera that I use for recording the hedgehogs and other wildlife that visit our garden. My neighbour was so impressed he got one too. Our garden is about 170 square meters and I find that three cameras give me pretty good coverage. I have one positioned by the feeding station, another by the hog house and the third I move around the garden to track where the hogs go and what they get up to.The picture quality is excellent and I doubt for the money you'd get any better. The cameras have been out in all weathers and so far have shown no adverse effect to this and still look and perform as new.I highly recommend Victure trail cameras and it seems that the support are responsive too. I sent an email query to them and got an answer back within a very short time.

Not recommended
I have had several of these Chinese made cameras (both branded and unbranded) at this price point (£30-50). This is by far the worst one!!FOR: Non –glow LEDS, battery life (over 50% left after 2 nights 100x25sec videos), Battery life indicator, easy to use menu.AGAINST: Unacceptably grainy and out of focus at night, grainy during daylight and slightly out of focus. No temperature display on videos. The seller very kindly replaced this with a HC600. This is a far better camera, but did have some issues on video. The sound is set too low and cannot be altered. On the highest setting (1080) there is no display of time/date, but on lower settings it appears to work fine. The battery compartment is a vast improvement, as wires no longer go through the hinge assembly, which eventually will cause problems. Instead a carrier box is used, which slides into the bottom of the camera. You can also set the amount of light, which will save battery power and reduce the amount of 'whiteouts' if you are taking relatively close up shots.

The Customer Service team are brilliant should there be a problem or a question, first-class!
We originally had the HC300 but after 3 months, it stopped working because the power supply from the battery compartment failed, probably due to a broken connection because the battery compartment connected through the hinge. The customer service people were brilliant and immediately offered to replace the HC300 with their latest model, the HC400.This new model is far superior, the menu is more extensive and the battery compartment is at the back of the camera, not in a separate compartment. The picture quality is excellent (which to be fair, as was the HC300) and, although not yet tested, we are told the design has changed to prevent lens misting. The instructions are clear, very easy to follow. We use the camera to monitor the activity on our patio at night which not only includes our cats but also, foxes, a badger, various hedgehogs and even a tawny owl, all of which were very clear to see
